  • 70-Year-Old Ms. Liu Huijun Died Due to Persecution in Jilin Province

    Practitioner Ms. Liu Huijn was 70 years old. After July 20th, 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began persecuting Falun Gong. Ms. Liu went to Beijing to appeal many times, and was arrested and detained repeatedly. In February 2003, police officers stormed into Ms. Liu's home and arrested her and her husband. They tortured Ms. Liu for two months by slapping her, kicking her, and suffocating her with a plastic bag. She was then sentenced to forced labour and taken to the Heizuizi Forced Labour Camp. Because she had been severely tortured, Ms. Liu was rejected by the camp due to her physical condition. They released her after extorting 1500 yuan from her. During the past several years, financial extortion and mental and physical torture caused Ms. Liu to live in terror. She died on December 19th, 2007.
  • Once Chased and Shot at by Police, Mr. Zheng Qunpeng Now Dies as a Result of Persecution

    Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Zheng Qunpeng, 42, was detained for 16 days in August of 2000, because he practised Falun Gong. At the end of 2003, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Secretary of his employer and police officers from the Taishan Station unsuccessfully tried to arrest him. At around 5:20 a.m. on March 14th, 2004, while Mr. Zheng was on his way to work, police officer Zhao Qingzhe and others from the Taishan Station chased him, shot at him from behind, and took him into custody for more than five hours. They then proceeded to torture him. He was forced to go to work before he was fully recovered and lived under close monitoring at work and home. He died on July 18th, 2007 in a hospital in Shenyang City.
  • Mr. Wu Yueqing Died under Persecution

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wu Yueqing, in his 30s, lived in Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province. He was arrested, sentenced to prison and tortured multiple times. Mr. Wu went on hunger strike to protest, and he was cruelly force-fed by guards and the prison doctor. They stuck a water bottle down his throat, damaging it, and force-fed food into his trachea, caused his lungs to become infected. He died on December 23rd, 2007, leaving a 13-year-old child to live in an orphanage, as the mother had also passed away.
  • Ms. Zhao Jiafang Died after Labour Camp Personnel Injected Her with Unknown Drugs

    In August 2001, several local police officers and security guards arrested 64-year-old Ms. Zhao Jiafang at her home. They detained her in the county detention centre and violently interrogated her. They had her sentenced to eight and half years in prison for the so-called crime of "obstructing the law" and took her to the Yongchuan District Forced Labour Camp. In the past several years of brutal treatment, Ms. Zhao was constantly forced to work overtime doing slave labour. Her eyesight was blurry and she could not finish her work. She passed out three times in the camp. She was finally taken to the labour camp clinic, but after she was injected with some unknown drugs, she appeared to have difficulty breathing. To avoid being held responsible for her death, the labour camp authorities released her for medical treatment on October 1st, 2007. She died on December 21st, 2007.
  • In November 2007, Seven Practitioners Are Verified to Have Died as a Result of Persecution and Torture

    Mr. Song Changguang was an outstanding student from the Communication Faculty of the Changchun Post and Telecommunication Institute. Because he openly said that he was a Falun Dafa practitioner, no company dared to employ him. Later, when he went to Beijing to peacefully appeal for Falun Dafa in accordance with the law, he was arrested. He was detained at the Chaoyanggou Forced Labour Camp in Changchun and suffered inhuman torture. A healthy and robust young man who was 1.8 metres tall became a mere skeleton as a result of torture. His joints protruded and he was basically skin and bones. His lower body developed festering sores. Even when he was in such terrible condition, the police still shocked Mr. Song with 35,000-volt electric batons and used other methods of torture on him. Mr. Song Changguang died on November 12th, 2003, at the age of 26.
  • Weifang Communist Agents Detain and Brutally Torture Li Tianmin and All Five Members of His Family

    Li Tianmin and his family live in Weifang City, Shandong Province. They are all Falun Gong practitioners. On October 11th, 2007, all five of Mr. Li's family members and relatives were once again arrested by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) government officials. At present, Mr. Li Tianmin is being detained in the Weifang Detention Centre; his wife, Ms. Lou Hongmei, has been sentenced to two years of forced labour and is in the notorious Wang Village Forced Labour Camp; and his mother-in-law was detained in the 610 Office in Weifang awaiting brainwashing sessions. While detained, she was tortured, and her former illnesses relapsed and she was sent home. Li Tianmin's brother-in-law was also sentenced to two years of forced labour and detained in Zhangqiu Forced Labour Camp. His sister-in-law was also detained in a detention centre but has been released.
  • Ms. Li Ying from Shaanxi Province and Mr. Cui Chengming from Shanxi Province Died as a Result of Persecution

    Ms. Li Ying was 61 years old. In 2002, Ms. Li appealed for the right to practise Falun Dafa. Consequently, she was detained in the Xi'an City Brainwashing Centre, where she was beaten and shocked with an electric baton. She held a hunger strike to protest the persecution, and her health was seriously weakened. After Ms. Li was released, she was monitored for a long time. A local police officer regularly called her and visited her to threaten and harass her. Ms. Li's health deteriorated, and she passed away on October 11th, 2007. Mr. Cui Chengming was 64 years old. His whole family suffered serious persecution. His wife Zhang Guizhen was detained three times. In 2004, she was sentenced to forced labour for three years. During this period, Mr. Cui was repeatedly harassed by the authorities. His health deteriorated and he passed away on November 21st, 2007.
  • "Committing Suicide to Escape Punishment" Given as the Cause of Elderly Mr. Qi's Death, Family's Appeal Stalled

    Twenty days have passed since Mr. Qi Tingsong's death, as a result of inhuman torture. His ill and grieving wife went to the departments concerned every day to appeal on her husband's behalf. However, the Laiwu City Procuratorate said they would only hear the case when she was able to present a ruling on the cause of death provided by the police department. Laiwu Police Department said they would not provide any ruling for her. Mr. Qi Tingsong, 67 years old, was arrested on October 15th, 2007 and taken to Laiwu City Hospital on November 5th for emergency treatment. The following day, the hospital issued a "Notice of Critical Illness." The medical exam showed that Mr. Qi Tingsong had internal organ failure, upper digestive tract hemorrhaging, and severe internal injuries. Mr. Qi Tingsong passed away in hospital on November 11th.
  • Mr. Diao Peng from Liaoning Province and Mr. Xu Xingguo from Hunan Province Died as a Result of Persecution

    Practitioner Mr. Diao Peng, 35, suffered extreme psychological pressure to renounce Falun Gong and financial extortion at the hands of the police. He got sick and died on October 21st, 2007. Mr. Xu Xingguo, 59, was arrested while distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the facts about Falun Gong. The Yongxing County 610 Office agents injected an unknown drug into his forehead at Xinkaipu Forced Labour Camp. His eyes constantly watered and his nose was congested when he returned home. He felt confused, experienced amnesia, and suffered miserably for six months. He died on November 14th, 2007.
  • Practitioner Mr. Xiong Zhengming, a Young Teacher, Died in Police Custody

    It has just been learned that Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Xiong Zhengming from Wanyuan City, Sichuan Province died while in police custody, and his body was hastily cremated by the local police. Wanyuan City Domestic Security Division Chair Ye Xudong (male) and others gave inconsistent accounts of the cause of Mr. Xiong's death. It was first said that Mr. Xiong committed suicide while being transferred to the Xinhua Forced Labour Camp, but soon after issuing that statement, it was said he died in a traffic accident. The real cause of Mr. Xiong's death is suspicious. Why did the agents cremate his body so quickly? What are they trying to hide?
  • After Two Family Members Were Tortured to Death and Her Savings Taken, Ms. Zhang Yulan Was Arrested Again

    Ms. Zhang Yulan was arrested by the local police at about 11:00 a.m. on November 28th, 2007, in Baishan City, Jilin Province. Eight or nine police officers went to Ms. Zhang's home, where they arrested her, ransacked her home, and confiscated a Falun Gong book and materials. The police officers also claimed that they would not return her bank deposit book that they had confiscated, which has access to 10,000 yuan in her bank account. This was her living allowance provided to her by her children. No one knows where Ms. Zhang was taken. In 2003, Ms. Zhang Yulan's father and brother were both tortured to death in the Changchun City Chaoyanggou Forced Labour Camp because they practised Falun Gong.
  • Mr. Liu Peng Died in Tianjin City

    In October 2000, the police arrested Mr. Liu from his home. In detention and sent to Shuangkou Forced Labour Camp. He was forced to labour for more than ten hours per day and tortured by having basins of cold water poured over his head, causing him to lose control of his lower limbs. He was in extreme pain and could not stand up. Even after his release from a labour camp Mr. Liu did not recover. He died on November 13th, 2007, at age 41, leaving his wife and ten-year-old daughter.
  • Mr. Zhang Youjin Died While in Prison

    On December 16th, 2004, Mr. Zhang Youjin went to Xifeng County to distribute leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong with fellow practitioners. He was arrested, sentenced to three and half years in prison, and detained in the Dongling Prison in Shenyang City. In October 2007, a guard notified Mr. Zhang Youjin's family that he was sick. Mr. Zhang's family was shocked to see him. He used to be very strong when he was first detained in the prison, his hair was very black and shiny, and there were not any wrinkles on his face. However, when his family saw him, he had to breathe oxygen through a tube in his nose, he was as thin as a skeleton, his hair was all white, he could not stand still, his hands were shaky, and he could not talk coherently. Guards said he was sick with tuberculosis, and they needed to pay 3000 yuan for treatment. Mr. Zhang Youjin died on October 22nd, 2007.
  • Two Practitioners Died under Persecution in Jilin Province

    Ms. Song Yuhong, 53, started practising Falun Dafa in 1996 and benefited mentally and physically. She went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa after July 1999, when the persecution began. In 2001, she was arrested by 610 Office agents while distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the facts about Falun Gong. She was sentenced to two years of forced labour and suffered cruel torture in the Heizhuizi Forced Labour Camp. Guards shocked her with electric batons multiple times. She lost two teeth due to being severely beaten. Her internal organs were injured by all sorts of torture. Ms. Song died in August 2001 after returning home.
  • Elderly Mr. Li Jiuzhi in Dehui City, Jilin Province Dies as a Result of Years of Police Harassment and Abuse

    Mr. Li Jiuzhi was a 77-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner. Since the beginning of the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, five of the six members of his family had been arrested. His third granddaughter is currently in custody. In the past three years, Mr. Li lived a lonely life. He was gravely concerned about his loved ones who had to leave town to avoid arrest or who were wrongfully imprisoned. He had been tormented by worry, loneliness, and thoughts of his children and grandchildren. Local police officers constantly came to his home late at night to harass him, demanding cash and information on the whereabouts of his family members. Mr. Li had been under extreme pressure and suffered from a great amount psychological pain. On October 31st, 2007, Mr. Li Jiuzhi died.
