One winter night, after drenching Peng Shiqing with cold water, he was forced to kneel on the floor for several hours. While he was down, they set one leg of a heavy desk on his foot, a torture that caused him to suffer tremendous pain. In later interrogations, agents of the "610 Office" beat him so badly that they broke one of his legs, which never healed correctly and causes him to walk with a severe limp. Although it has been a year and a half since his detention, Peng Shiqing's family members have been denied visitation, due to fear that the atrocities of the "610 Office" would be exposed. -
The Inside Story of Persecution Against Falun Gong Practitioners Detained in Hulan Prison
2003-08-28The police and head prisoners conspired. They agreed if the prisoners were successful in getting a practitioner to renounce his or her belief, they would be given credits and the prisoners would receive sentence reductions. They also implied that the prisoners could use any means to achieve results with the practitioners. If the prisoners were not successful in obtaining renunciations from the practitioners, they were to receive punishment, including reduction in gained points. -

2003-08-27In the morning of August 1, the "610 Office" special unit drove a white van onto Chongqing University premises to monitor the communications within the school and arrested all faculty who discussed this matter. That van was equipped with a complete set of modern equipment that can monitor wire and wireless communications. On the evening of August 3, the special unit officers arrested over a dozen Dafa practitioners on the Chongqing University campus. They were all faculty members and there were about two or three professors. -
Facts of the Persecution of Practitioners in the Beijing Women's Labour Camp
2003-08-27During 2001 and 2002, policemen arrested practitioners on a mass scale, regardless of age, health, or time of day or night. Some practitioners with symptoms of heart disease and blood pressure over 200 were taken away at will and put into labour camps. According to the law, people with serious health conditions cannot be sentenced to labour camps, but these labour camps were forced to accept them all. One practitioner who was paralysed from the waist down after an accident was sent straight to the Tiantanghe Hospital in Daxing District, where she was tortured. -

2003-08-27In the detention centre, the head, Geng Zhanwu, beat her brutally, causing severe internal injuries in her heart and lower back. Later, she was sentenced to a two-year term of forced labour and was sent to Gaoying Labor Camp of Baoding City. She had been steadfast in her practise of Falun Dafa and has never yielded to official attempts to have her renounce the practise. After she was released from the labour camp, the "610 Office" of Hengshui City and the city police department tried several times to arrest her but failed in their attempts. -

2003-08-26Before the reporter arrived, the police hid the steadfast Dafa practitioners in a place that received no sunshine, then opened the restricted library door and arranged for an actor to perform. They said that Hao Wenshuai made the practitioners only do light labour. The fact is that the practitioners were forced to work from 5:00 am to 9:00 pm or even 10:00 pm without a break. What the reporters heard were not the facts, but outright lies. The people who were interviewed were either swindled or forcibly brainwashed under the high pressure. Harsh Situation of Falun Dafa Practitioners at Shijiazhuang Labour Camp
2003-08-25Bai Yuzhi was arrested in August 2002. Since then, she has held a hunger strike in protest. On April 10, 2003 she began to vomit blood. She was force-fed daily, and her nasal cartilage became distorted as a result. She almost went blind. She could barely walk and she was carried on the backs of those who force-fed her. The No. 2 Labour Camp reported her as being "critically ill," but the "610 Office" would not allow her to return home. -
Dafa Practitioner Ms. Liu Chengyan In Critical Condition from Torture at the Second Detention Centre of Fushun City
2003-08-24The guards commanded criminals to beat her brutally, which caused Ms Liu to go into shock. On July 14, 2003, when Ms Liu was taken to Fushun Central Hospital for emergency treatment, she was still wearing foot-shackles and handcuffs. The detention centre then tried to extort money from her family members. Since her family did not have any money, the detention centre decided not to let her receive any treatment. Instead, they took her back to the detention centre on July 21. Now, Ms Liu is in critical condition and her life is in grave danger. -
Examples of Inhumanity Toward Falun Dafa Practitioners in Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province
2003-08-23He Naifeng put Dafa practitioners in chains, poured cold water on them, and shocked them with electric batons. Sometimes he used more than one electric baton, and then beat them with hard rubber sticks. When he finished with them, they were swollen all over, covered with purple and blue wounds, and their skin and flesh were torn open. He pried open their mouths with bamboo sticks, inserted a very thick tube into their mouth, and then used a funnel to pour food into their mouth. He has personally beaten every practitioner who has been detained in the county detention centre. He would beat them first and then interrogate them. -
Accounts of Persecution against Falun Gong Practitioners by the "610 Office" and the Political Security Office in Hebei Province
2003-08-23Officials at the "610 Office" of Zhengding County directed the Zhengding County Police Department's Political Security Office as well as local police stations to commit appalling crimes against practitioners, one after another. For example, practitioner Zhao Fengnian was beaten to death and his body was dumped, while other practitioners were detained, beaten, sent to labour camps, or sentenced to jail terms. Whoever practices Falun Gong is sent to the county's Party School and forcibly brainwashed, while those practitioners who are steadfast in their beliefs are detained. -
Police Station in Sichuan Province Persecutes Dafa Practitioner Qing Mingzhen and Harasses Her Family
2003-08-23Police sent Qing Mingzhen's brother sent her to the "Wuhou Legal System Learning Class," which is actually a brainwashing centre. Qing Mingzhen did not cooperate with any instructions from the police, so police captain Liu slapped her face heavily 18 times in front of the family, causing her dizziness and profuse bleeding from her nose. Police then handcuffed her hands behind her back to a tree. With righteous thoughts, Qing Mingzhen left the brainwashing centre, and now has become destitute and homeless. -
A Young Falun Gong Practitioner Nobly Resists Persecution during Unlawful Imprisonment
2003-08-22In the detention centre, the fellow practitioners there looked after me carefully. No matter how vicious the persecution was in the jail, I insisted on practising the Falun Gong exercises, and I got out of jail several months later. During my time there, many fellow practitioners were taken out for interrogations that lasted days. Later I was told that the authorities tried to extort "confessions" by torturing them in a hotel room day and night. The practitioners suffered from severe physical abuse and mental humiliation.
