Dr. Shen Yueping from Yunnan Subjected to Persecution Before She Died
2010-11-27
Falun Gong practitioner Dr. Shen Yueping had won many awards in the city and in the province, and had earned a good reputation among patients and colleagues. In 2000 Dr. Shen Yueping went to Tiananmen Square to hold a banner that read, "Falun Gong is good." She was arrested, and sentenced to a three-year prison term. In 2004 Dr. Shen was sentenced to a five-year term in prison. In May 2009 her husband received a phone call from a guard in the Second Women's Prison stating that she was in critical condition. Dr. Shen had been mistreated and was emaciated. She was nothing but skin and bones. Dr. Shen died on July 16th, 2009. -
Li Jing Inhumanly Tortured at Guangzhou Women's Forced Labour Camp
2010-11-27Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Jing was taken away and sentenced to 21 months in a forced labour camp on September 25th, 2010. On October 4th, she was sent to the Guangzhou Women's Forced Labour Camp. After Ms. Li Jing was taken to the Haizhu District Detention Centre, her hands were handcuffed and feet shackled. There were deep marks on both wrists and ankles. Several days after Ms. Li was sent to the Guangzhou Women's Forced Labour Camp, ten people pressed her down and force-fed her every night. -
Female Practitioner Suffers Mental Collapse Due to Torture at Zhejiang Women's Prison
2010-11-27Ms. Su Shufen was very weak and ill before she started practising Falun Gong, but after she began the practice in January 1999, her health was restored. Ms. Su has been arrested twice since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started the persecution of Falun Gong. In May 2002, Ms. Su was reported to police while making Falun Gong informational materials. She was detained in a forced labour camp for three years. Ms. Su became mentally unstable as a result of being tortured in the detention centre. She was secretly taken to Zhejiang Women's Prison, where her family was not allowed to visit her for a long time. Prison staff injected drugs into her body, which caused her to suffer a mental collapse. -
Older Practitioner Persists in Appeal After Being Sentenced for Practising Falun Gong
2010-11-27Practitioner Mr. Hao Yaohua, who is in his sixties, was sentenced to five years in prison in late 2009. He appealed, but the intermediate court rejected the appeal. Mr. Hao is currently being held in Jiamusi Prison, and is filing an appeal with the Supreme Court of Heilongjiang Province. Mr. Hao suffers from a serious lower back problem, but is being forced to do hard labour at the workshop in Jiamusi Prison. -
70-Year-Old Woman Driven to Mental Disorder by Persecution
2010-11-26Ms. Zhang Shuxiang, about 70 years old, was arrested in June by the local 610 Office [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong] while she was telling people the facts about Falun Gong and taken to the Zhaoyuan Brainwashing Centre. In the brainwashing centre, she was confined to a tiny, dark, solitary cell without any ventilation. She was not allowed to leave the cell or talk to anyone. Ms. Zhang held a hunger strike for 18 days to protest the detention. Guards beat her with steel batons. She was severely bruised. She passed out four times during the torture and her mind became disordered. -
Women's Prison of Hebei Province Persecutes Ms. Shang Shiying and Ms. Dan Huanrong
2010-11-26Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Shang Shiying and Ms. Dan Huanrong of Tangshan were sentenced to prison. They are currently being held at the Women's Prison of Hebei Province at Shijiazhuang. The prison guards use sleep deprivation, prolonged standing and beating to punish the practitioners who will not give up their beliefs. The prison has been forbidding Ms. Shang's and Ms. Dan's families from visiting. Ms. Shang's family eventually saw Ms. Shang; she was very thin, had dark circles around her eyes, and her legs were swollen from prolonged standing. -
Ms. Zhu Rongzhen from Kunming City Arrested Again
2010-11-26Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhu Rongzhen, 57, is being held at the Chenggong County Detention Centre in Kunming City, and is extremely weak from being tortured. Officials from the detention centre refused to tell her family of her condition and only told them that Ms. Zhu was sent to the prison hospital. -
A Letter from a 10-Year-Old Girl to Her Father in Jail
2010-11-26The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) regime has been persecuting Falun Gong for over 11 years. So many harmonious families are being broken up, parents and children are being torn apart. Meilian is a ten-year-old girl. When she was one and a half years old, her father was sentenced by the CCP because he talked to people about Falun Gong. At that time, Meilian was still too young to speak. She was unhappy every day because suddenly she could not see her father anymore. She misses her father so much that often she cannot sleep. -
Shanghai Practitioner Lu Xingguo Brutally Tortured to Death in 2003
2010-11-25Lu Xingguo was persecuted since the persecution against Falun Gong started in 1999. He was imprisoned at the No. 1 Forced Labour Camp in Dafeng, Shanghai for eighteen months. During his imprisonment, Mr. Lu was physically and mentally tortured, and forced to perform heavy labour for long periods of time every day. In 2003, he was sent to the No. 3 Forced Labour Camp in Qingpu District, Shanghai. The warden convinced inmates to beat him and torture him with the tiger bench. Lu Xingguo's painful screams could be heard from outside the cell. The perpetrating inmates demanded that he give up his belief in Falun Gong, but he refused. On October 15th, 2003, Lu Xingguo was tortured to death. Witnesses said that Lu Xingguo's body was covered with electric shock marks. -
Two Men in Xinmi County Prison Die as a Result of Abuse
2010-11-25Sixty-nine-year-old Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yang Shucai was arrested in March 2009. Mr. Yang was detained for seven months. He was then sentenced to four years in prison and sent to the Xinmi County Prison in Zhengzhou. Mr. Yang's physical condition worsened while he was there, and he was released for medical treatment on September 29th, 2010, and passed away 12 days later. Mr. Sun Peijie was sentenced to four years in prison and tortured until he was in critical condition. He was sent home in January 2005 and passed away on August 19th, 2005. -
Elderly Mr. Mi Kechang Disabled Due to Severe Torture
2010-11-25Falun Gong practitioner Mi Kechang, 79, went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong on October 3rd, 2000, and was arrested. Police questioned him and pressured him to renounce Falun Gong. Mr. Mi was forced to sit on a bench for a long time. He weighed 94 kilograms when he first arrived, but after 13 months of torture, he was severely emaciated, barely conscious, and bedridden. The Qingling Detention Centre was afraid of taking responsibility for his death so they sent him home. Since then Mi Kechang has not been able to sit up or stand up and can only lie in bed. -
Mother and Daughter Repeatedly Persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Because of Their Belief in Falun Gong
2010-11-25Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Cai Jinrong and her daughter, Liang Yinling have during the past 11 years of ruthless persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), been repeatedly arrested and harassed. Their home was ransacked, they were put in brainwashing facilities, and were detained in forced labour camps where they were subjected to mental and physical tortures. Ms. Cai, who is 61 years old, was once tied up on a tiger bench for 16 days. They have now been forced to leave home to avoid further persecution. -
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Reproduced the "Tiananmen Self-Immolation" Video to Brainwash Practitioners
2010-11-24In July and August, the CCP 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) of Luzhou City, Sichuan Province, set up brainwashing centres in Luzhou's Nasi District and Gulan County. They repackaged old propaganda materials--whose flaws have already been exposed--to try and force arrested Falun Gong practitioners to "study" them. As one example, they have used the incident of "Fu Yibin killing his wife." When Fu Yibin appeared on television, he was confused, contradicted himself, and kept shaking. It was later revealed that he was not a practitioner and was mentally ill. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) used him to make Falun Gong practitioners look bad, but he was discovered to be a fraud. -
Kindergarten Teacher Ms. Wei Xingzhi Detained in Wuhan Women's Prison
2010-11-24Ms. Wei Xingzhi was arrested on September 23rd, 2009, when agents from the Wuhan City Police Department, Wuhan 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong), and the Shuiguohu Police Station pried open the door to her home and ransacked it. Ms. Wei was taken to the Wuhan City No. 1 Detention Centre. She was transferred to Wuhan Women's Prison in August 2010. Her elderly mother, who is in her 80's and requires assistance, has been left uncared for at home. Because she refused to give up practising Falun Gong, Ms. Wei's workplace terminated her employment and withheld her salary for eight years. Ms. Wei has also been subjected to forced labour and brainwashing at the hands of the Chinese Communist Party for her belief in Falun Gong. -
Mr. Liu Yuanbo and Ms. Yu Lancun from Chenxi County, Hunan Province Arrested
2010-11-24Chenxi County 610 Office agents (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) arrested Mr. Liu Yuanbo on November 3rd, and took him to the Huaihua City Brainwashing Centre. Mr. Liu Yuanbo, 36, is a welding mechanic. He has practised Falun Gong for more than ten years. Since the onset of the Chinese Communist Party's persecution of Falun Gong, he has been arrested and subjected to beatings many times.
