  • United Kingdom: Falun Gong at the Kingston Carnival

    The exercises of Falun Gong attracted many people who had come to the festival. People gathered to watch the gentle movements and the sitting meditation. The stall featuring more information about Falun Gong was in the busy central area of the market square. When passing by the stall, many people were interested in learning the exercises and coming to the free weekly sessions.
  • Finland: Introducing Falun Dafa at Art Night in Helsinki

    On August 27, Falun Dafa practitioners in Finland took part in the 21st Helsinki "Art Night", demonstrating the beauty of Falun Dafa at Hesperian Park in the downtown area. They also exposed the CCP's crimes and called on people to collectively help stop the human rights abuses against Falun Gong. The people who saw the exercise demonstration all wanted to learn more.
  • Rally in Sweden Commemorates Victims of Communism

    On August 23, the Swedish NGO "Upplysning of Kommunismen" hosted their annual rally in downtown Stockholm to commemorate the victims of communism, Nazism and other dictatorships. The Falun Dafa Association of Sweden was invited to the rally, and practitioners passed out fliers exposing the persecution of Falun Gong.
  • Germany: Mayor of Offenbach am Main Pledges Support to Daughter of Falun Gong Practitioner Imprisoned in China

    On July 18, 2009, 62-year-old Ji Guizhen, a Falun Gong practitioner from Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, China, was arrested for her beliefs. Her daughter, Xu Anlan, and other family members haven't seen her since. After being illegally imprisoned for a year, Ji Guizhen was handed a two-year labour camp sentence for possessing Falun Gong informational materials calling for the end of the persecution.
  • United Kingdom: Exposing the Persecution in front of the Parliament Building in Scotland

    On August 8, Falun Gong practitioners from Scotland held activities in front of the Scottish parliament building to let people know about Falun Gong and expose the brutal persecution in China. Practitioners demonstrated the exercises, passed out informational materials and talked to tourists. Many people signed the petition against the persecution.
  • Hungary: Divine Land Marching Band Participates in Saint Stephen's Day Parade in Debrecen

    August 20, 2010 is Saint Stephen's Day, recognizing the founding of the Hungarian state over 1,000 years ago. The holiday coincides with the 41st Flower Festival of Debrecen, Hungary's second largest city. The European chapter of the Divine Land Marching Band was invited to perform at the flower festival.
  • United Kingdom: 2010 UK Falun Dafa Experience Sharing Conference Held in London

    On August 29, the 2010 UK Falun Dafa Experience Sharing Conference was held in London. Eighteen Chinese and Western practitioners gave speeches. Emiko, a new practitioner, said that she had looked for all kinds of qigong before, which messed up her health. Falun Dafa saved her. After practising for three months, her body was purified and she is full of energy now.
  • Germany: Practitioners Hold Activities to Rescue a Practitioner's Mother from Prison in China

    On Saturday August 14, 2010, Falun Gong practitioners held a petition drive and information display in Offenbach, a city in central Germany, to rescue 62-year-old practitioner Ms. Li Guizhen from Suzhou who was unjustly arrested and sentenced to three years in prison. Ms. Li Guizhen's daughter lives in this city, and is calling for the release of her mother.
  • United Kingdom: Falun Gong Practitioners "Add a Vibrant Touch" to the Edinburgh Arts Festival Parade

    "Chinese light up Calvalcade". This, along with a large photo of Falun Dafa practitioners performing a fan dance was on the cover of Scotland's biggest newspaper The Scotsman on August 9, 2010. The lead story described the Falun Gong contingent in the Edinburgh arts festival parade.
  • Bulgaria: Exposing the 11 Years of Persecution Against Falun Gong in China

    It has been 11 years since the beginning of the brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China. The persecution began at the orders of one man: Jiang Zemin, the head of the Chinese Communist Party in 1999. Jealous of Falun Gong's popularity amongst the people, he ordered the practice to be destroyed and so began the systematic torture, killing and abuses.
  • Hungary: Falun Gong Practitioners Hold a Parade in Budapest

    Falun Gong practitioners from Eastern Europe, Austria and Germany, and the European Divine Land Marching Band held a parade on August 21, 2010 in Budapest's city centre. They displayed the beauty of Falun Dafa, exposed the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) brutal persecution, and called for an end to the persecution.
  • Germany: Raising Awareness about the Persecution of Falun Gong During the Wagner Opera Festival

    During the 99th Wagner Opera Festival, also known as the Bayreuth Festival, German Falun Gong practitioners held activities to raise awareness about the persecution of Falun Gong. Practitioners set up display boards in Bayreuth's city centre in front of the government building, with banners reading, "These Crimes are Currently Taking Place in China..." Many tourists and locals stopped to learn more.
  • Bulgaria: Gathering Signatures to Stop the Persecution of Falun Gong

    Falun Gong practitioners from Bulgaria and Russia organized an activity in Varna, Bulgaria. They gathered signatures for the petition for human rights of the Falun Gong practitioners persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The event was held on June 20, 2010, Sunday, near the entrance of the Sea Garden.
  • Germany: Falun Dafa Information Day in Regensburg

    On August 14, 2010, Falun Dafa practitioners in Germany initiated a weekly "information day" for two months in Regensburg, Germany, a beautiful historical city on the banks of the Danube. Many passersby stopped to read the display boards about Falun Dafa and the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) violations of human rights.
  • United Kingdom: Falun Gong Practitioners Return to the International Arts Festival at Edinburgh

    In early August 2010, the capital of Scotland once again welcomed the famous Edinburgh International Arts Fair, and many tourists from all over the world. On this special day, Falun Gong practitioners from different parts of the UK came to this beautiful city to promote Falun Gong to the large number of visitors, and expose the Chinese Communist Party's persecution.
