Ms. Li Xiurong from Jiamusi Tortured in Prison

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Xiurong was sentenced to three years in prison in 2010. She has been detained in the Harbin Women's Prison in Heilongjiang Province. On August 13th, 2012, Ms. Li's family visited her and found her to be very thin. She also felt discomfort in her heart, had difficulty in breathing and had pain in her breast. In addition, she had blurred vision and impaired hearing. Grey hairs appeared in her black hair. -
Shanghai Computer Engineer Mr. Hou Junjie Tried, His Younger Brother Arrested for Hiring a Lawyer
2012-09-07Qingpu Court officials tried computer engineer Mr. Hou Junjie on August 20th, 2012. Mr. Hou's younger brother Mr. Hou Mengqiang was arrested for hiring a lawyer for his brother. Shanghai police made the arrest on August 23rd in Zhengzhou City. The court officials intended to hold a second court session, and told Mr. Hou Junjie's lawyer not to defend Mr. Hou in court. -
Former Lecturer at Shanghai Police College Mr. Liu Peng Shocked with Electric Batons at Tilanqiao Prison
2012-09-07Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liu Peng was sentenced to 5 years in prison in 2008, and has been held in Tilan Prison in Shanghai. He has been subjected to severe physical abuse and torture. It has been learned that guard Wang Haocheng shocked Mr. Liu with electric batons for a long time. He deceived Mr. Liu's family many times, lying to them that Mr. Liu didn't want to see his family, and thus deprived his family of the right to visit him in prison. -
The Persecution Suffered by Mr. Lian Yikun Before His Death
2012-09-07Because of the persecution of Falun Gong, practitioner Mr. Lian Yikun was forced to become homeless for many years. He decided to return home to apply for an ID card on April 26th, 2012. However, he was arrested by the local police department and taken to Suihua Forced Labour Camp 15 days later. In just a little over a month, Mr. Lian died at the labour camp at the age of 39, apparently tortured to death. His family received the notification on July 14th and all they saw was his disfigured corpse covered with wounds and both legs broken. -
Mr. Sun Shaomin, 54, Passes Away After 13 Years of Abuse
2012-08-31Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Sun Shaomin from Wuchang City, Heilongjiang Province has been repeatedly arrested and detained during the past 13 years, and subjected to forced labour. He was sentenced to ten years in prison, where he was brutally tortured. He was mentally and physically worn down by the abuse and eventually passed away on May 29th, at the age of 54. -
Doctor Wu Qun Subjected to Severe Abuse in Yongchuan Prison and Denied Family Visits
2012-08-31Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wu Qun has been held in Yongchuan Prison since July 2011. He has been subjected to severe physical abuse and torture and denied family visits. When his uncle and aunt, who are in their 80s, and his relatives travelled to the prison which is located on a mountain on August 13th, 2012 to deliver money and daily necessities to Mr. Wu, the officials would not allow them to see him with the excuse that they are not immediate family members. -
Ms. Xiu Li Appeals Unjust Four-Year Sentence
2012-08-31On the morning of July 17th, 2012, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Xiu Li from Guanghan City was sentenced to a four-and-a-half year prison term by the Jinniu District Court of Chengdu. Ms. Xiu believes that practising Falun Gong and explaining the facts about the persecution are not wrong or illegal, and she contends that she is not guilty of any crime. She expressed to the court that she will appeal to the Intermediate Court. -
Pingdu City Police Fabricates Evidence and Tries to Frame Wife of a Falun Gong Practitioner Facing Trial
2012-08-31Pingdu City Court officials informed Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Guangwei's family on July 21st, 2012 that a court hearing would be held on July 27th. Mr. Wang's family hired two lawyers from Beijing to enter a not-guilty plea for Mr. Wang, and at the same time, circulated a letter to the local people, inviting them to attend the court procedures. Pingdu 610 Office agents (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) and Domestic Security Division officers were in a panic when they discovered this. They harassed and threatened those who had received the invitation. They also fabricated evidence against Ms. Sun Suling, wife of Mr. Wang Guangwei, and searched for her everywhere. -
Evil Deeds Committed by Chen Mingbo, Head of the 610 Office in Jiayu County, Xianning City, Hubei Province
2012-08-31On July 2nd, 2012 director of the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) took Ms. He Guihong to the brainwashing centre. She was forced to stand for over 40 days. For 20 of those days, she had to stand for over 20 hours each day, causing severe swelling of her legs, to the point that she couldn't walk. Guards also tied her legs onto a bench with a cloth, her hands to the handle, her body to the back of the bench, and force-fed her for three consecutive days. They inserted a plastic tube into her mouth and nose and deliberately pulled it out repeatedly, causing a large amount of blood to come out of her nose. Her eyes were also bleeding. She was also shocked with an electric baton. -
Defence Attorney Stops Judge from Humiliating Falun Gong Practitioner in Court—The Real Story of Yang Guoguang's Trial in Tangshan City
2012-08-31The trial of Falun Gong practitioner Yang Guoguang was on August 6th, 2012, at the Eighth Court of Fengrun District, in Tangshan City, Hebei Province. During the trial, Judge Xu Tianpeng viciously teased and humiliated Mr. Yang. This behaviour was soon stopped by the defence attorney. On February 25th, 2012, police from Fengrun District of Tangshan forced Mr. Yang's family to call him under false pretences to bring him home. Mr. Yang was then arrested when he returned home. After being detained for nearly six months, Mr. Yang was brought to trial. He hired an attorney to defend him. -
Qixia Court Violates the Law, Beijing Lawyers Submit Letters of Complaint
2012-08-31The 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) and the police department in Qixia, Shandong Province, arrested more than 20 Falun Gong practitioners and their relatives on August 30th, 2011, and confiscated the practitioners' belongings. In December 2011, practitioners' families hired Beijing lawyers to defend them. As a result, the Qixia Procuratorate returned files to the police department on two occasions and cancelled the trial. Nevertheless, Qixia police refused to release the practitioners and instead fabricated charges against them. -
Fearing Exposure, Authorities Threaten to Arrest People Attending the Trial of a Falun Gong Practitioner
2012-08-31Pingdu City Court sent a summons to Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Guangwei’s family on July 19th, 2012 announcing that his trial had been scheduled for July 27th. However, in just four days, the court decided to postpone the trial and informed the defence lawyers on July 25th because they were afraid that people attending the trial would hear them enter an innocent plea. The Pingdu 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) and Pingdu Domestic Security threatened to arrest whoever attended the trial. -
Ms. Lu Chengying, 68, Held in Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison
2012-08-31Police broke into the home of elderly Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Lu Chengying on August 1st, 2012, and took her to the Heilongjiang Women's Prison in Harbin. Ms. Lu suffers from high blood pressure, and her family is very worried about her. Ms. Lu is currently in Ward No.9. After three months, her family was finally told that they could visit her. -
Female Teacher from Inner Mongolia Severely Persecuted, Now “Nothing But Skin and Bones”
2012-08-28Ms. Wu Guohui, a teacher at the Inner Mongolia Balinzuoqi Elementary School, was arrested on her way to the market for groceries, and later sentenced for following the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and trying to be a good person. As a result of brutal persecution, Ms. Wu is now emaciated. Ms. Wu's weight had dropped from about 165 pounds to less than 66 pounds. When the officers arrived at her home, she was in bed, barely alive. Ms. Wu has been repeatedly arrested, her home has been ransacked, she has had money extorted from her, and she has been monitored, spied on, and followed for long periods of time. She has been detained at the brainwashing centre and undergone intense brainwashing. -
Weihai City Police in Shandong Province Constantly Changing Their Statements Regarding the Death of Ms. Wang Diansong
2012-08-28On the night of May 12th, 2012, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Diansong, 68, died in an accident, and Ms. Qi Xiuchun was injured. According to eyewitnesses, three police cars surrounded the two women, one of whom lay on the ground while the other knelt on the road, shouting for help. At Chucun Hospital, a medical assistant said that two women were brought in on the night of May 12th. One of them was already dead. The other victim, Ms. Qi Xiuchun, was immediately taken away by police and her whereabouts are unknown. After the tragic accident that took place Gaoxin District Police Department kept changing their statements. Recently they maligned the witness, Ms. Qi Xiuchun, claiming that she was “mentally unstable.”
