High School Teacher Mr. Lu Jiajun from Jiamusi City Arrested and Taken to Brainwashing Centre

Mr. Lu Jiajun is a high school teacher who is held in high regard by those who know him. He is known for his uprightness, kindness and responsibility. However because he remains steadfast in his belief in Falun Gong, he has been harassed many times by officers from the local political and legal committee. He was arrested and taken to a brainwashing centre on May 15th, 2012. -
Mr. Ge Yijun Sent to Forced Labour Camp in Shanghai
2012-06-26Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Ge Yijun went missing for more than two months, and only recently did we learn that Shanghai 610 Office agents (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) had subjected him to 15 months of forced labour in April. Mr. Ge is currently on a hunger strike, and has been hospitalized in the Zhoupu Prison Hospital. In 2008, Mr. Ge was arrested by the 610 Office agents, and subjected to 15 months of forced labour. He was sent to the Shanghai No.3 Forced Labour Camp. -
New Brainwashing Centre Established by Political and Legal Affairs Committee in Xianning City
2012-06-26The Xianning City 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) and Political and Legal Affairs Committee set up a new brainwashing centre to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. It was used to carry out a 1-month forced brainwashing session. Police implemented various methods for arresting practitioners, in order to detain them at the brainwashing centre. These methods included arresting practitioners on the street or at work, as well as setting up deceptive schemes to lure practitioners to a specific place of planned arrest. -
Police Arrest a Dutiful Daughter and a Benevolent Couple
2012-06-26When Ms. Zhang Qiuping, a Falun Gong practitioner of Shenyang City, went to visit a friend on April 15th 2012, the police arrested her for no reason. She is now in a detention centre in Shenyang City. Her 75-year-old mother is handicapped and cannot take care of herself properly, but is now on her own. She is waiting anxiously for her daughter to come home. -
Elderly Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Chen Hongzhou Sent to Ziyang Brainwashing Centre
2012-06-26On May 25th, 2012, the Lu County Court of Sichuan Province, the Procuratorate and Police Department attempted to sentence Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Chen Hongzhou, who was imprisoned at Erehu Brainwashing Centre in Ziyang. A trial verdict requires going through legal procedures. However, the court had never given Ms. Chen any indictment, nor was she notified of her right to hire an attorney. Her family wasn't notified to attend any trial. But the court attempted to sentence Ms. Chen to a brainwashing centre. Ms. Chen is in her seventies. She had planned to visit her daughter on April 26th, 2012, but when she didn't show up her daughter called her. Ms. Chen was barely able to say the words, “I was arrested,” before the call was cut off. -
Mr. Guo Xiaojun’s Health Has Declined Sharply in Detention; Lawyer Denied Visits
2012-06-26Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Guo Xiaojun, a former lecturer in the Computer Science Department at Shanghai Jiaotong University, was incarcerated at Tilanqiao Prison in Shanghai for his belief in November 2010. Prior to the prison term Mr. Guo was detained and interrogated at the Baoshan Police Department, which resulted in his experiencing frequent bouts of intermittent blindness. This condition has worsened at Tilanqiao Prison. The prison officials have denied his family's request for medical parole several times because Mr. Guo has refused to renounce his belief. When Mr. Guo’s family and a lawyer visited the prison, the lawyer was not allowed to meet with Mr. Guo. -
Xiang Lijie Disabled from Torture at Jilin Province Women's Prison – Current Whereabouts Unknown
2012-06-22Falun Gong practitioner Xiang Lijie is from Liaoyuan City. Because she refused to give up her belief, she was suspended over a bed at the Jilin Province Women's Prison. Her four limbs were tied up and her whole body was suspended in the air. Her arms were broken and disabled. She has not yet received any treatment and is still detained in the prison. Xiang Lijie is 49 years old. In 2006, she was sentenced to 11 years in prison. Because she refused to give up her belief in Falun Gong, she has endured torture. -
Mrs. Wang Guiying Held at the Baoding Detention Centre in Hebei Province
2012-06-22On the morning of February 25th, 2012, Cui Hao and other policemen arrested fifty-five-year-old Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Guiying who was at home by herself. They grabbed her wage slips and took the money Ms. Wang's siblings had prepared for their mother's hospitalisation fee. Ms. Wang was taken away when her family members arrived. Cui Hao was the mastermind in persecuting Ms. Wang. He prevented her from meeting a lawyer and didn't issue a meeting pass leaving her unable to see her family. -
Three Practitioners from Li County, Hebei Province, Arrested by 610 Office Personnel
2012-06-22The Li County Police Department, the Domestic Security Division, the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong), and several police stations acted simultaneously to arrest practitioners Ms. Xie Aman, Mr. Wu Ruixiang, and Mr. Li Baoheng. The police surrounded Ms. Xie's home, climbed over the wall, and arrested Ms. Xie. They then ransacked her home and confiscated many informational Falun Gong materials. The officers also videotaped the scene. -
Nurse Jia Liqing, 55, from Harbin City Has Been Detained Awaiting Trial for More Than Six Months
2012-06-22Ms. Jia Liqing is a pediatric nurse in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Harbin City Medical University. She was arrested on November 5th, 2011 along with her colleague, Yu Huazhi. She has now been detained for more than six months. So far, only her defence lawyer has been allowed to visit her twice. According to the lawyer, Ms. Jia is detained in No.2 Detention Centre of Harbin City. At the beginning of 2000, Ms. Jia went to Beijing to appeal again. She was taken back and detained at No. 2 Detention Centre for six months. She was mistreated during her detention and had scabies all over her body. She suffered physically and mentally. -
Retired Teacher Mr. Dou Pingjun from Shahe Arrested and Robbed
2012-06-22On May 26th, 2012, at noon, at the entrance to the Construction Bank located near the intersection of Maoyi Street and Jianshe Avenue in Shahe, Hebei Province, three policemen forcibly pulled and dragged grey-haired Mr. Dou Pingjun away from his wife. Because of the unusually rough treatment, Mr. Dou had a heart attack. He lay on the ground for half an hour and could not move. Many people gathered around him and took pictures. Finally, Hou Shouhong led a group of police to take Mr. Dou into custody. They were observed throwing all of Mr. Dou's personal items into a bag and then putting them in a police vehicle. The police forced a bystander to delete the pictures he took of the incident. -
Ms. Zou Xuemei from Zhanjiang, Guangdong Persecuted and Force-fed
2012-06-22Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zou Xuemei was taken to the Zhanjiang Brainwashing Centre by police on April 24th, 2012. Ms. Zou has become very thin 15 days later as a result of the persecution. He Weijie and other officers co In the Zhanjiang Brainwashing Centre, the guards forced Ms. Zou to listen to the Communist Party's false propaganda. Ms. Zou went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. Four or five people held Ms. Zou's hands and feet and force-fed her with food and drugs. Police continuously harass and threaten her. -
Marking June 10th - China's 610 Office - Policing the Chinese Spirit
2012-06-22What is the 610 Office? How and why did it come to exist? Why is it carrying out measures ostensibly under the purview of the Ministry of Public Security? The 610 Office is named after the date of its creation: June 10th, 1999. “Six-ten” functions outside the state system without any official standing. At its core, the 610 Office is a plainclothes Chinese Communist Party (CCP)-based extra-ministerial security force focused on suppressing the Falun Gong spiritual group. The leading group sets the policy direction, which the 610 Office executes. -
Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Officials in Wuhan City, Hubei Province Planned Trial of Seven Falun Gong Practitioners
2012-06-22The Wuchang District Court, Wuhan City, Hubei Province planned to put seven Falun Gong practitioners on trial on May 19th, 2012. According to inside information, Zhou Yongkang, the head of the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) Political and Legislative Affairs Committee, was instrumental in pushing this one-year long case. Zhou ordered the Public Security Ministry to be in charge, and the local 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) and other law-enforcement organizations to adjudicate this case. -
Mr. Lu Kailai, Paralysed Due to Persecution, Recently Transferred to Jinzhou Prison
2012-06-16Mr. Lu Kaili was an engineer at the Dalian Heavy Industry Group Co. Due to the torture and abuse to which he was subjected while being detained, Mr. Lu became paralysed. On May 8th, 2012, he was transferred to Jinzhou Prison and detained in the prison clinic. Four inmates were assigned to watch him. His family has been denied permission to visit him. His current situation is unknown.
