On the night of the April 28, 2002, the ”the 610 Office” (an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.) in Qingyuan County, Hebei Province, employed a group of thugs to break into private homes in the middle of the night. They went through boxes and chests, and confiscated Falun Dafa books and materials.

A female practitioner was beaten because she had a note with the phrase "Dafa is good" written on it. The "610" official asked, "Who are you writing this to?" The practitioner answered, "It's for you to see." Consequently a few thugs beat her with reckless abandon. After a while she lost consciousness. She had bruises all over her face and body.

A couple was beaten so badly that the police even broke the baton used to hit them. They were covered with cuts and bruises. After they were taken away, the wife was sent to the county's forced labour camp and the husband was taken to a brainwashing class. Now is a busy time of year when the wheat needs to be harvested, yet the couple was arrested and their child was left home alone.

The ”the 610 Office” set up a private court inside an area surrounded by high voltage fences and tried to force Dafa practitioners to write pledges renouncing Falun Gong. They also fined the practitioners. There were practitioners who were arrested 3 times and fined each time. Detailed information about many practitioners are currently unknown, and even their families do not know their current situation.
