It was recently learned that Ms. Lu Xiuli, from Shanghai, is being detained and persecuted at the Mental Disease Prevention and Treatment Hospital, in the Putuo District of Shanghai.
Ms. Lu Xiuli, 61, lives on Zichang Road, in the Putuo District, Shanghai. She started practising Falun Gong in 1998. She has been repeatedly persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) authorities. She has been detained in forced labour camps, detention centres, and mental hospitals several times.
Ms. Lu Xiuli was reported to police in 2002, and sent to a forced labour camp because she was distributing Falun Gong flyers in a subway station. She could not attend her daughter's wedding ceremony in that year.
Ms. Lu was sent to “Shanghai Legal System Education School” in November 2005.
In October 2008, Ms. Lu was sent to a mental hospital and persecuted. On June 6th, 2009, Ms. Lu Xiuli was arrested by police and sent to a mental hospital again. She was therefore not able care for her daughter when her daughter gave birth.
Ms. Lu is currently being detained on the sixth floor of the Mental Disease Prevention and Treatment Hospital in Putuo District, Shanghai. She is forced to take medicine every day. Her situation is very dire.
