In October 1999, I went to Beijing to appeal; I was sent back to my hometown and confined in a local detention centre for more than five months. Later, I was illegally sentenced to one and a half years of forced labour and was subsequently sent to Baimalong Forced Labour Camp in Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province in March 2001.

Because Dafa practitioners held a hunger strike, the special-task police took action towards the practitioners on January 28, 2001. Police shocked the practitioners with electric batons and handcuffed them; they also beat and kicked the practitioners and forbid them to sleep at night. Female practitioner Cao Jianzhen from Yuanjiang County was beaten to death by the special-task police at the labour camp because she persisted in studying the Fa [principles of Falun Dafa] and doing the exercises. Female practitioner Zuo Suqun from Changsha City was tortured to death through force-feeding by the special-task police because she held a hunger strike.

In the labour camp, because we persisted in studying the Fa [principles of Falun Dafa] and doing Falun Dafa exercises everyday, the officials set up a No. 7 division in August 2001, where all determined Dafa practitioners were sent. We were tortured by being beaten and forced to wear handcuffs everyday. On September 1, 2001, the guards sent me to a mental hospital and injected me daily with powerful drugs that damage the central nervous system. Since I kept doing the exercises and studying the Fa [principles of Falun Dafa] everyday and my righteous thoughts were firm, the doctor couldn't do anything with me. After injecting me with these drugs for half a month, the doctor sent me back to the labour camp. The guards at the labour camp did not persecute me after I returned. I kept studying the Fa and doing the exercises every day by myself. It was not until June 2002 that I was released to go home.
