Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhai Jinping, an internist from Taishan Nursing Home in Shandong Province, was sentenced to forced labour in Shandong First Women's Forced Labour Camp. The Labour Camp is attempting to extend her term just as it is about to end.

Forty-three-year old Zhai Jinping was sentenced to three years' forced labour and taken to Shandong First Women's Forced Labour Camp in Jinan on July 23rd, 2008. She was previously sentenced to three years of forced labour in the same labour camp on October 25th, 2000.

She is due to be released on July 23rd, 2011. During the detention, she refused to give up her spiritual practice. While doing the sitting meditation on her bed, guards kicked her hard, knocking her off the bed. She went on hunger strikes several times to protest the persecution and was locked in a solitary cell many times.

Ms. Miao Peihua from Jinan, another practitioner who is also a doctor, was previously detained together with Zhai Jinping. After her term of one year and nine months ended, she was imprisoned for another 11 days. Upon her release, just as she was walking out of the labour camp, the labour camp collaborated with the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) to abduct her. She was taken to a brainwashing centre and tortured until she was on the verge of a mental breakdown. Later on, she was sent to a mental institution for further persecution.

Practitioner Ms. Gao Yuchen, a teacher from Zaozhuang City in Shandong Province, was illegally sentenced to three years of forced labour in 2008. She was due to be released in February this year, but she is still being held and unable to go home. She was directly transferred to Jinan City Brainwashing Centre and detained there for over 15 days. The evildoers forced her to give up her spiritual belief and even threatened to sentence her to forced labour again. Her family members are still not allowed to see her.

Guards from Shandong First Women's Forced Labour Camp often threaten practitioners who refused to give up their practice with an extension of their terms. Upon finishing their terms, these steadfast practitioners are directly taken to the brainwashing centre by 610 Office agents.
