Practitioner Ms. Wang Baoyu from Jinshantun District in Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province was arrested in Harbin City on November 16th.

I have known Ms. Wang's family for more than eight years. I met her husband, Mr. Qin Yueming, when we were detained together in Yichun Forced Labour Camp. I visited their home several times during the winter of 2001. The couple has two daughters and makes a living by collecting waste materials.

Kang Kai, Qi You and other officers from the Political Security Section broke into their home in April 2002. They removed Mr. Qin, Ms. Wang and their fourteen-year-old daughter Ms. Qin Rongqian from the property.

Cui Yuzhong, head of the police department, and Meng Xianhua, head of the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong), ordered some officers to beat Mr. Qin. They tied his hands with rope and tortured him on a tiger bench1. His legs and ribs were broken in several places and he couldn't walk. He was later sentenced to ten years in prison, and is being detained at the Lianjiangkou Prison in Jiamusi City.

Ms. Wang was taken to Harbin Women's Forced Labour Camp, and was released after two years. On the morning of October 4th, 2007, officers from Jinshantun District 610 Office and Fendou Police Station broke into Ms. Wang's home again. They ransacked it and took her away. She was then sent to a forced labour camp. She was released in September 2009 after one year and nine months of forced labour.

Ms. Wang's two daughters were 14 and 11 at the time. Kang Kai and Qi You punched and kicked the older sister. When she fell to the ground Kang Kai kicked her in the head and face. She was then taken to the police station. They threatened, insulted and interrogated her and forced her to stand the whole night without sleep. They put her age as 18 on the police documents and ordered her to sign it. Ms. Qin was held in a detention centre for 30 days, and was interrogated several times during the detention. Kang Kai and Qi You once tied her up and slapped her in the face. She felt dizzy, her face was swollen and there was a bump on her head.

The two daughters were forced to leave school because their parents were detained. Mr. Qin and Ms. Wang used to take care of their parents, but then the two girls had to make a living to support the family and take care of their grandparents. Ms. Wang was released in September 2009. She and her two daughters were forced to leave their home in order to avoid further harassment from the Jinshantun District 610 Office.

Seven officers from Jinshantun District took Ms. Wang away from her apartment in Harbin on November 16th. One officer with the surname of Gong left his phone number: 86-13664582799 (Mobile).

Ms. Wang and two other practitioners are being held at Yichun Brainwashing Centre, which is inside Yichun Forced Labour Camp. Staff at the brainwashing centre are from Yichun Detention Centre and Yichun Forced Labour Camp.
