On November 19th, 2010, Ms. Xiang Huaixiang from Chenzhou City, Hunan Province was secretly put on trial at Beihu District Court in Chenzhou City. While in court, Ms. Xiang kept telling people that Falun Gong and Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are good, and refused to sign the court paperwork.

Ms. Xiang, in her 60s, was arrested on July 19th, 2010 at her home while conducting a Falun Gong group study with 11 elderly female practitioners. Liao Binggang, a police officer from the Chenzhou City Domestic Security Division who also works for the Chenzhou City 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong), brought several police officers to Ms. Xiang's home. They confiscated all of the Falun Gong books that the elderly ladies were reading and over 1,000 yuan1 from them.

They also ransacked Ms. Xiang's home and confiscated many of her personal belongings, her car, and over 15,000 yuan.

All twelve practitioners were brought to Nanta Police Station. Several hours later, Liao brought over a form stating that all the Falun Gong practitioners were exercising and conducting a group study. They were told to sign their names so that they would be released. However, after they all signed, only four of the elderly ladies, who are in their 80s, were released at around 8:00 p.m., while the rest of the practitioners were sent to detention centres.

Ms. Xiang is still being detained in a detention centre. Zhang Heping, an officer from the Chenzhou City 610 Office, put her on a public wanted list to try to further persecute her by putting her family under pressure and publicly humiliating them.

Her mother-in-law, in her 80s, and who has difficulty walking, went to Zhang Heping to request for Ms. Xiang's release day after day. Later, he lied to her, saying that they were discussing it. However, her secret trial was held on November 19th.
