Officers from the Public Security Bureau in Baoding City, Fuping County Domestic Security Division, and police stations from neighbouring counties broke into several practitioners' homes in Fuping County and ransacked them on August 12th. Those arrested are: Ms. Zhao Fengzhen, Ms. Liu Gairong, Ms. Zhang Lianfen, Ms. Xin Guozhi, Ms. Yuan Guihua, Ms. Fan Xifeng, Mr. Chen Po, Ms. Liu Xiuping, Ms. Zhang Lianrong, Ms. Zhang Xiuzhong, Ms. Yang Zenghua, Ms. Bao Zhen, Mr. Gu Qiang and Ms. Ma Yurong. Mr. Zhao Zunran and Mr. Ji Dalin were not at home at the time and so avoided arrest, but their homes were still broken into and ransacked.

Ms. Zhang Lianrong and her daughter from Beicaiyuan were both arrested, but her daughter was later released. When officers broke into Ms. Liu Gairong's home, without showing any ID, they tried to arrest her. Ms. Liu's daughter was shouting loudly, trying to protect her mother, so the officers arrested both of them. Her daughter was also later released. Ms. Liu fainted and had to be taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.

The following afternoon Ms. Liu and the other female practitioners were taken to the Shijiazhuang Women's Prison, but Ms. Ma Yurong was later released. Mr. Chen was detained in the Baoding Forced Labour Camp.

Ms. Zhao Fengzhen, from Baihe Village, lives by herself. She started practising Falun Gong because of her poor health, and saw her health improve dramatically after practising. She has been arrested several times because of her belief.

Ms. Zhang Lianfen was due to move away on August 12th, and many friends and relatives had come to say goodbye. At around 10 a.m. two police officers came to check their ID's, and soon after, police officers broke into her home and arrested her. Ms. Zhang's husband works out of town a lot on business, and so Ms. Zhang is the only one to take care of her two children and mother-in-law, who is over seventy years old.

Police officers arrested Ms. Xin Guozhi on her way home. They snatched her keys, opened the door and ransacked her home. Her two teenage daughters saw this and began to cry. The police confiscated a computer and two printers, and then arrested her and took her away.

Mr. Chen Po and Ms. Liu Xiuping, who are married, were forced to pay 20,000 yuan1 a few years ago when they were previously detained. They normally have to take care of their two teenage children and elderly parents. When they were arrested this time, Mr. Chen was put in handcuffs and foot shackles, and was detained at the Baoding Forced Labour Camp.

When Mr. Gu Qiang was taking his child to school, as he passed the entrance of the county Communist Party Committee building, a few police officers grabbed him and pushed him into a police car. They then ransacked his home. Back in 2007, when Mr. Gu was arrested, police officers confiscated his vehicle, which has still not been returned to him.
