Ms. Ji Liping, a staff member at the Real Estate Company of Tongliao in Inner Mongolia, has been constantly monitored, arrested, robbed in her home, and harassed by the police over the past eleven years. This is simply because she is a Falun Gong practitioner and wants to be a good person and conduct herself according to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. She is 56 years old and has been tortured in the Hexi Detention Centre.

In March 2000, Shao Jun and Baoji Rimutu from the Domestic Security Division of Tongliao broke into her home and took her to the police department. They took a list of names and demanded that she tell them who she knew (referring to fellow practitioners). Ms. Ji refused to answer, so they took her home and seized many of her personal belongings.

Baoji Rimutu took her ID card away, which prevented her from going to Beijing to appeal. From then on, the police placed her under surveillance and harassed her on the phone almost every day. They forced her to write a guarantee statement to renounce practising Falun Gong. If she went out, Baoji Rimutu would followed her.

On May 30th, 2001, Xue Jinyu, Wang Bo, and Zhao from the Domestic Security Division ransacked Ms. Ji's home and robbed her of her personal belongings. She was then taken to the police department.

In May 2001, Ms. Ji was taken to the Hexi Detention Centre. The police there forbade her from reading Falun Gong books and doing the Falun Gong exercises. She was handcuffed to a railing. Because she hadn't eaten anything or slept for two days, she fell into a stupor. Then the police hung her up from the railing and the handcuffs dug into her flesh. She was in such a great pain that she came to.

When she asked the police to release her, she was handcuffed again to a lower place for as long as seven to eight hours. Then she was taken to the women's prison. Police officer Wu Yun ordered her to repeat the prison rules, and he often tried to get her to "confess," especially when she had not eaten. Her limbs were very weak and her heart was affected. Then she went into convulsions. She wasn't set free until she was detained for a month.

Throughout the following years, Ms. Ji was frequently harassed. One day, the police came and told her that, if the director didn't see her, he would be extremely worried. If she went to Beijing to appeal, he would be laid off. He wanted to have her detained in the Hexi Detention Centre so he wouldn't worry.

In 2005, Jiang Xiuli, the director of the residential committee, and a female police officer went to her home. Ms. Ji Liping informed them about the true nature of Falun Gong and the persecution. Several days later, Li Chenghai from the police station went to her home and grabbed a Falun Gong book. She took it back, and her husband pushed the officer out the door.
