Mr. Yin Yucai was arrested for practising Falun Gong in early 2005. The Chinese Communist Party tried him secretly on the charge of "disrupting social order." He was sentenced to eight years in prison, and his pension was withheld. Mr. Yin has been detained at Yuzhang Prison, in the First Team, for over five years.

Shi Jianjun is the warden of Yuzhang Prison. The Education Division director is surnamed Tong.
The prison has no heating equipment, and the winters are cold. All prisoners are forced to perform intense labour regardless of age. Mr. Yin was forced to work overtime doing sewing work. His physical and mental health have been compromised due to the ill effects of the intense labour as well as the conditions in his cell. Mr. Yin's entire body is swollen and his health is deteriorating daily.

Mr. Yin started practising Falun Gong in 1996. He also participated in a series of activities to promote Falun Gong. He got up before dawn, and went to the group practice site to clean it in preparation for the group exercises. During the holidays, he led fellow practitioners to rural areas to promote Falun Gong and established new group practice site. By consensus of local practitioners, he became the volunteer head of Duchang County Falun Gong assistance centre.

After April 25th, 1999, when over ten thousand practitioners appealed at the government headquarters for the right to practise, Mr. Yin was harassed and threatened by local police, as were other practitioners all around the country. His home was ransacked.

Mr. Yin went to Beijing on July 3rd, 2000, to appeal for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong. He was arrested and detained for 35 days. He was held for a month in Duchang County Detention Centre.

He was arrested once again in late 2000 by the county National Security Team and detained for a week. After he was released, he went to Beijing again and was again arrested. He was then sentenced to three years of forced labour.

From early 2001 to the end of 2003, Mr. Yin was detained at the infamous Majialong Forced Labour Camp in Jiujiang City. During three years of detention there, he was forced to do intensive slave labour, including making coloured lanterns, assembling quartz clocks, etc. His mental health was damaged and his dignity injured.
