Ms. Feng Xiaomei was arrested on April 27th, 2009, in her office. She was so badly tortured at the Hebei Province Women's Forced Labour Camp that she now has bloody bowel movements and is too weak to walk without support.

Beginning in May 2009, Liu Ziwei, director of the First Division of the camp, ordered inmates to deprive Ms. Feng of sleep and make her stand the whole night. Inmates Zhu Liying, Liu Zhongzhen, and Qi Xiaolu made her sit in the lotus position for hours at a time, then they trampled on her legs, knees, and ankles.

Ms. Feng cried because of the pain. Guard Gu Hongye heard her crying. Instead of stopping the brutality, Gu encouraged the abuse by blaming Ms. Feng for the noise and ordered the door to be closed tight.
Ms. Feng could not walk because of how badly swollen her legs were as a result of this torture. Liu Ziwei kept forcing her to stand the whole night without sleep or being allowed to use the toilet. She developed severe bloody stools after long term mistreatment. Liu deprived her of any family visits or the opportunity to take showers.

Guards forced her to make 500 clasp envelopes a day. It was an unreasonable quota. If she did not finish, she and her whole group were forced to stand. Liu Ziwei told her, "I do not want you to die. I just want you to suffer."

Three of Ms. Feng's family members have died as a result of persecution

Mr. Wang Hongbin, Ms. Feng's husband, died at the age of 39 in 2003 after being mentally and physically abused in a forced labour camp. (See http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2003/10/21/41491.html).
Ms. Feng Xiaomin and Mr. Wang Xiaofeng, Ms. Feng's sister and brother-in-law, had to flee home after being repeatedly harassed. Ms. Feng Xiaomin was in critical condition while she was in prison. Her health kept deteriorating. She finally died in 2004 (See http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2004/10/27/53916.html).

In 2005, Ms. Feng's father died from stress and repeated harassment.
