Ms. Bu Rumei, 37 years old, is a resident of Furong Village, Hengshanqiao Town, Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province, who worked for the Wujin Zhongtian Iron and Steel Group. On September 9th, 2009, she and her mother, Ms. Bo Xiuying, 67 years old ,were arrested by officers from the Henglin Police Station while they were talking to people about Falun Gong in the streets of Furong Village, Hengshanqiao Town. Currently, she is being detained at Wujin Detention Centre.
Ms. Bu Rumei went on a hunger-strike since day one, to protest the unjust persecution. The prison guards have been force feeding her for more than ten days already. Her health appears to be in a very critical condition due to these force feedings.
Since Ms. Bu Rumei started practising Falun Gong, she has followed the guidance of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in all aspects of her life. In her work place, she was recognised for her sincerity and friendliness. She also liked to help others and her co-workers loved her all the more. Because of her kind actions at her work place, the leader in her work unit once acted as a guarantor and prevented her from being arrested.
Since Ms. Bu has been detained, her family members are extremely anxious. Ms. Bu has two children; the oldest is about ten and the youngest is only fourteen months old. The baby has been crying every day and asking for his mother.
