On March 31st, 2009, while Ms. Li Shihong was entering her home in the Jiangan District, Wuhan City, a group of people suddenly appeared and took her away. Two hours earlier, Ms. Song, Ms. Li's mother was also arrested. Three months prior, Mr. Lu Qiqi, Ms. Li's husband was arrested in Shenzhen City.

Lu Hai, the couple's only son, is 12 years old. He is in junior high school. On March 31st, 2009, after Ms. Li was taken away, the perpetrators from the No.1 Security Section of Jiangan District, Wuhan City went to Lu Hai's class. Despite the fact that he was in the middle of a mid-term exam, they forced the teacher to bring him to the office, and pressured him to tell them who had been in contact with his mother and what they did. Lu Hai could not take the pressure anymore and used the excuse of needing to use the toilet to call his aunt to pick him up. Due to ten years of unrelenting persecution, Lu Hai has suffered severe mental trauma.

Mr. Lu Qiqi, 46-years-old, is the state registered engineer. As the main technical person in charge, Lu Qiqi designed many local buildings. He is a person with a high moral standard. His boss praised him as follows: "Other folks come here to make money from the company; Mr. Lu is here to make money for the company." Mr. Lu started practising Falun Gong in 1997 and follows the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. He always likes to help others. However, since July 20th, 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started the persecution of Falun Gong. Ever since then, Mr. Lu has been repeatedly jailed and tortured.

Between 2000 and 2002, Mr. Lu has been taken by the authorities to the Sanatorium of the Wuhan City Police Department, the Wuhan City Second Detention Centre, and the brainwashing centre of Jianghan District in Wuhan City. For awhile, nobody knew his whereabouts.

During the first half of 2004, Mr. Lu was missing. In September, the family received an anonymous call and learned that Mr. Lu was jailed in Shayang City, Hubei Province. He was then transferred to the brainwashing centre in Jianghan District of Wuhan for one year. In October 2005, Mr. Lu was sent to the Hewan Forced Labour Camp in Wuhan City.

She is kind and selfless, and likes to help others without asking for favours in return. In the past ten years, Ms. Li has been determined in the practice of Falun Gong. However, she has suffered ongoing persecution by the CCP.

In March 2000, CCP agents arrested Ms. Li and held her for five months. She was detained at the brainwashing centre in Huangpo District, Wuhan City. In the brainwashing centre, Ms. Li was determined to continue the practice, and she resisted the persecution. The perpetrators beat her brutally, and locked her in solitary confinement. Her face was injured from the beating.

At the end of 2000, without any legal documentation, the perpetrators broke in and ransacked Ms. Li's home. She was then taken to the Qiaokou District Brainwashing Centre in Wuhan City. Later, Li Shihong was sent to an undisclosed forced labour camp for one year. During that period of time, her husband Mr. Lu was taken away, and later was forced to stay away from home. Their young child had to stay with his grandmother.

During the first half of 2002, Ms. Li went to court to support a fellow practitioner on trial. She was arrested by personnel waiting outside of the court and sent to the Baibuting Brainwashing Centre. At this point, Ms. Li was brutally beaten to the point that she was near death. Her family took her home from the hospital.

On March 31st, 2009, Ms. Li Shihong was arrested again, and is currently detained at Wuhan City's First Detention Centre.

Grandma Ms. Song, Ms. Li's mother, is nearly 70 years old. She was also arrested. On March 31st, 2009, uniformed and plainclothes officers from the Jiangan District Domestic Security Division and Danshuichi Police Station drove two police cars to Ms. Li's residential building to conduct a surveillance. At about 1:00 pm, Ms. Song came downstairs. The police rushed up, covered her mouth, and took her to Danshuichi Police Station. They took the keys from Ms. Song's pocket, and ransacked Ms. Li's home without any legal documentation. They took away the family's personal belongings including a notebook computer, a printer, and an MP4. They also stole 1,500 yuan1 cash and left a mess behind.
