Mr. Zhang Chunlin was an officer on the Hongguang Farm in Baiyilaga Township, Qianguo County, Songyuan City, Jilin Province. Because he remained steadfast in his belief in Falun Gong, he was persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). In September 2008, he was injected with an unknown drug, causing a mental collapse.

Zhang Chunlin is the former head of the first division of Hongguang Farm. He is very honest and regarded as a good officer. After the persecution of Falun Gong started on July 20th, 1999, he was sentenced to one year in a forced labour camp because he went to appeal for Falun Gong. He was discharged from his post.

At 7 a.m. on July 1st, 2008, because of a report from Zang Xuanchuan, Party Secretary of the First Division of Hongguang Farm, Pu Yufeng led police from Baiyilaga Township to arrest Mr. Zhang Chunlin. He was detained in the Qianguo County Detention Centre for more than one month. On August 5th, he was sent to the Yimahe Forced Labour Camp in Jiutai City.

At that time, the forced labour camp refused to accept Zhang Chunlin because a physical examination showed he had high blood pressure. The police took him back to the Qianguo County Detention Centre. On September 1st, 2008, the detention centre forcibly administered an unknown drug through an intravenous drip. The next day, they did it again. Zhang Chunlin was sent home that night.

After going home, Zhang Chunlin slept for a whole day, then became mentally unstable upon waking up. He speaks incoherently and has a loss of memory. To date, he is still not normal.
