United States: Rally Held in Los Angeles to Support 50 Million People Withdrawing from the Chinese Communist Party and Its Affiliated Organisations

In order to celebrate 50 million Chinese people having quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organisations ("Three Withdrawals"), and call for the rescue of lawyer Gao Zhisheng, hundreds of people from California held a rally on the morning of February 22nd, 2009 in Barnes Park of Monterey in the Los Angeles area.

At 10:00 a.m., people attending the rally in the park unfurled dozens of banners and signs carrying messages including "Congratulations to 50 Million Chinese compatriots who have quit the CCP and its affiliated organisations," "Bid farewell to the CCP and greet the rebirth of China," "Quitting the CCP Is a Path Bestowed by Heaven."

Rally Falun Gong practitioner Wu Yingnian

Dr. Gao Dawei, who is in charge of the Global Quitting-the-CCP Service Center, said that the grand tide of quitting the CCP has swept through China and shocked the world. This is because the book entitled Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party has awakened the Chinese people's morality and conscience. Hundreds of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners have worked as volunteers to spread the good news about the Nine Commentaries to every corner of China, and at the same time, the Quitting-the-CCP campaign has also gained support from righteous organisations in the international community.

Dr. Gao also pointed out that since the Nine Commentaries was published four years ago, the CCP has taken all kinds of actions like hooligans, such as dispatching special agents to damage the service centres and so on, but actually they have played a role in pushing forward the grand tide of quitting the CCP.

He illustrated with an example. The head of a 610 Office in Anhui Province jumped to his death on the eve of the Chinese Lunar New Year. Other police officials around him, at the request of their relatives, made phone calls while in tears to announce their withdrawals from the CCP and its affiliated organisations. Another example: a provincial Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party committee travelled abroad and led over 140 tourists who were on the same tour bus with him to register at the Quitting-the-CCP Service Center to announce their "Three Withdrawals." All this has made the CCP very afraid; therefore it dispatched many special agents disguised as tour guides to harass the Quitting-the-CCP Service Centers. But Mr. Gao said, "No matter how high-ranking an official you are, as long as you have the wish to say, 'I want to quit the CCP,' gods will protect you."

Dr. Qu Zheng, representative of the Epoch Times, said that the Epoch Times published the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party to awaken people's conscience so they will be saved. The CCP is evil, because it attempts to control people's thoughts and souls. When talking with some Chinese people about quitting the CCP, some would say, "Don't fight against the CCP, you will come to no good end." They do not make their judgment according to right and wrong, good and evil, but only relate to power. When more and more people learn the facts, they have a change of heart. When more of them can also make a right choice, the CCP will be the same as the Berlin Wall, collapsing all of a sudden.

Tang Guangzhong, an early pro-democracy activist, said that the CCP has always maintained that the democratic system in the West does not fit with China's situation. But do Marxism-Leninism and Mao Zedong's thoughts fit with China's situation? Mr. Tang said that he can feel the signs of a great change in Chinese society: "Your dedication will be etched in the 21st century. God bless you, God protect the Chinese nation."

Wu Fan, editor-in-chief of China Affairs, an online magazine, emphasized in his speech that the "Three Withdrawal" campaign is not a belief movement, but has developed into a social movement. He said, "Chinese people believe in the harmony between man and nature. We are doing what the heavens want and we will definitely succeed."

He also called for the rescue of human rights lawyer Gao Zhisheng, who has recently been abducted again by the CCP. Mr. Wu said, "The CCP is afraid of Gao Zhisheng because he supports Falun Gong. The suffering he has been subjected to is exactly what Falun Gong practitioners have endured. His letter exposing the CCP's barbaric deeds has spread all over the world. We will make a full effort to rescue him and his family. I believe that we will hear good news in the near future."

Falun Gong practitioner Wu Yingnian said that lawyer Gao Zhisheng was subjected to twelve torture methods that the police use to torture Falun Gong practitioners, including sexual abuse. The CCP has designed all the torture methods--this crime was not committed by a few rogue police officers.

Cao An, a current economic commentator, said that there is a group protest of more than 50 people every one point five minutes in China. The frequency is higher than on the eve of the Xin Hai Revolution. Many government officials who have renounced the CCP and its affiliated organisations are behind many protests.

After the rally, attendees formed a "Great Wall of Truth" with banners and signs along the streets of Monterey and San Gabriel, another city where many Chinese people live, attracting many people in vehicles who were shopping at the Chinese Mall on the weekend.
