Mr. Shi Baoqi Dies in Police Custody after a Dozen of Practitioners Arrested in Taiyuan City

Around a dozen Falun Dafa practitioners in Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province have been arrested in the past month. On December 5th, 2006, Mr. Shi Baoqi died suddenly after an intravenous injection in the Police 109 Hospital at age 40.

Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Shi Baoqi lived in the Xishan Mine Family Housing in Taiyuan City. On November 13th, 2006, policemen from Taiyuan City Department and Ximing Station stormed into practitioner Ms. Li Caiyun's home and arrested Mr. Shi Baoqi together with practitioners Ms. Li Caiyun, Ms. Duan Fengqin, and Ms. Zhang Ruilian. A witness saw that Mr. Shi was covered with blood after the arrest. They were all detained in the Taiyuan City Detention Centre.

On November 14th, 2006, policemen ransacked Mr. Shi Baoqi's home and took away Falun Dafa materials. Mr. Shi was tortured severely during detention.

On November 30th, 2006, Mr. Shi was taken to the Police 109 Hospital (many practitioners have died there) in Taiyuan City. After an intravenous injection with unknown drugs, he began to heavily sweat, and he was sent back to the cell, where he suddenly died.

The doctor that treated him is Li Yaqin (female), and the Department Chief is Dr. Liu (female).
