Ms. Zhang Lixian is around 50 years old. She lives in the Dongshan area of Gaode, Fuxin City, Liaoning Province. In April 2002, she was arrested at home by the police from the Dongshan Police Station and was detained at the Xindi Detention Centre. She went on a hunger strike to resist the illegal detention but was brutally force-fed for ten days. One day, policewoman Ding Huanfang (around 40 years old) handcuffed her to an iron window grate, allowing only the tips of her toes to touch the ground. She was kept in this position for several hours. Finally, Ms. Zhang lost consciousness and the handcuffs couldn't hold her weight and broke apart. Ms. Zhang was later transferred to the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp.

Ms. Jia Guilan is in her 60s. During the detention, she did not cooperate with the authorities and refused to wear the prisoner's uniform. She was put in handcuffs and shackles for seven days and nights with the handcuffs and shackles connected together. The police did not unlock her even when they interrogated her. Hence while walking between the prison cell and the interrogation room, she had to bend at a 90-degree angle and try to walk. She couldn't take care of herself while eating or going to the toilet. The responsible prison supervisor is policewoman Ding Huanfang.

Ms. Liu Guiping is in her 50s. She lives at Gongjiawazi Village, Sihe Town, Fuxin City. During April and May of 2002, she was arrested for distributing truth clarification materials. She went on a hunger strike to resist the unjust detention. The criminal inmates slapped her face and forced her to eat. She did not cooperate with the authorities. Policewoman Ding Huanfang beat her brutally. She kicked Ms. Liu's abdomen wearing high heels, then went behind her and stomped on her legs to try to force her to kneel down. Ms. Liu refused. Ding Huanfang called several policemen and male criminals, and they dragged her outside, handcuffed her and hung her up. Ms. Liu kept shouting, "Falun Dafa is good!" A policeman used an electric baton to try to shock her neck, but Ms. Liu said loudly, "There is no battery, it's of no use!" The electric baton indeed did not work. The policeman changed electric batons and tried again, and Ms. Liu said, "Shock yourself!" The electric baton indeed shocked the policeman. It was her righteous thoughts that kept the two electric batons from functioning properly. Her tormentor became frightened and dared not shock her anymore. But another policeman put a filthy rag in her mouth to stop her from shouting and left her to hang there for several hours.

The following is an account of the brutal force-feeding method that Wang Qingyun and others in the Xindi Detention Centre are using on Falun Dafa practitioners. Directed by the prison doctor, Wang Qingyun (female, over 40 years old), and cheered on by several policemen, male criminal inmates use a wide belt to restrain a Dafa practitioner to a chair with a big hole in the middle of the seat (like a toilet seat). Then they use a latex rubber tube about the width of a finger, with one end attached to a funnel; they insert the other end through the practitioner's nose and push it all the way down to the stomach. The torturers keep pulling the tube in and out repeatedly to further torture the practitioners. Then they pinch the practitioner's nose so that he/she can only breathe through the mouth, and they start to feed a corn-flour porridge mixed with water into the mouth non-stop. The practitioner has to vomit continuously, it is very hard to avoid suffocation, and cannot breathe for a long time. The breathing always comes with a very heavy sound, and the pain is indescribable. Wang Qingyun would yell viciously, "Punish them! Punish them hard! However much is vomited, that is how much more has to be fed!" Over time, the prison staff found that they couldn't succeed in feeding through the mouth, and so they started to use a super-sized syringe for animals, and used that to fill the funnel. In this brutal way they constantly force-fed the practitioners. A policeman once said with a sinister smile to a criminal inmate assisting them, "You will learn enough for a good animal hospital if you stay here for two more years."
