Norway: Alternative Health Fair in Haugesund

Falun Gong practitioners were invited to participate in an alternative health exhibition in Haugesund, Norway in February 2003. A group of practitioners went to demonstrate the exercises, and to tell people about Falun Gong and the persecution happening in China. Around 700 people visited this exhibition over the weekend. A lot of these people visited our stand and received information. Some also commented positively on the fact that Falun Gong was free. One person thought it was very good that Falun Gong doesn't charge any money and that this makes Falun Gong pure, in deep contrast to so many other things in modern society that are commercialised. Over 30 people wanted to learn the Falun Gong exercises immediately and asked whether there was a Falun Gong practice site in Haugesund. Some also said they were interested in helping to start a regular practice site in Haugesund and are going to do so in the next few weeks.

Some people from Amnesty International sat at the table next to us, so we used this chance to tell them about the brutal persecution of Falun Gong in China. We also gave them the English truth-clarifying Video-CD. They were very happy and interested in the information.

We also used the opportunity to tell the facts about the persecution and how Falun Gong has spread to over sixty countries to a Chinese person who attended the exhibition. At first he said that he would talk to us about anything except Falun Gong, but in the end we talked to him about Falun Gong for 15 minutes before we said goodbye. The last day at the exhibition he came to our table before he left, and requested information about the lawsuit against Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin and also more general information about the brutal persecution of Falun Gong.
