Whilst Practitioner Suffered in Forced Labour Camp, Wife Was Killed in Car Accident

Practitioner Zhao Hongwen and his wife Sun Rongjun lived in Zibo, Shandong Province and were persecuted for telling people the truth about Falun Gong. 49 year old Ms. Sun, was an employee with the Zibo Pottery Factory. She was paralysed from the waist down at age 19 as a result of a mistaken muscular injection. She could find no cure until she started practising Falun Gong in 1996. Before long, she was able to stand and move as if nothing had happened!

Sun and her husband Zhao Hongwen appealed in Beijing many times after the persecution began on July 20 1999. They were detained, imprisoned, fined and brutally beaten.

In May 2000, they were arrested in Beijing for appealing and were brought back to Yechuan Hospital under the Ministry of Minerals in Zibo, Shandong Province. They were kept in the Mental Health Department where they were both unjustly injected with high dosages of nerve-damaging medication, which caused a significant loss of hair and teeth.

In July 2000, both Sun and Zhao went to Beijing to appeal again. They were arrested and detained in a brainwashing centre under the Kunlun Agriculture Department. The inhuman head of the township, Chen Hui, and his staff took turns battering the couple. These villains even stripped off the couple's clothes and beat them with a plastic baton. Poor Ms. Sun was so severely beaten around her navel that her underwear cut deep into the flesh, which was very bloody. The rest of her body was covered in bruises.

As Ms. Sun was released, her husband Mr. Zhao was sentenced to a three-year term in Qiuju Forced Labour Camp (he has now been released). Since then, the local police seriously harassed and threatened Ms. Sun until she had no choice but to leave her home and children behind. She moved from one place to another day by day, and was killed in a car accident on January 20, 2002.
