Ms. Zhang Liyuan, 30, was a Falun Gong practitioner from Xinjiang Province. Since 1999, she has been harassed and arrested numerous times. On November 1st, 2000, she was forced to leave home. In June 2004, she returned to Xinjiang. However, the local police sent two people to monitor her around the clock. In order to avoid further persecution, she had to leave home again. She came to Laizhou City, Shandong Province, where her family was originally from. On April 12th, 2005, over 20 policemen ransacked her home, took away all her Dafa books, her mobile phone, tape recorder, computer, and printer. After she was detained for 50 days, she was sent to a labour camp. However, because she showed severe symptoms of illness, the labour camp refused to take her. The police then took her back to Laizhou, where she was detained for 20 more days before she was finally released. Because of the long-term persecution, Ms. Zhang could not live a normal life and could not study the Falun Dafa teachings and practise the exercises regularly. She was devastated both in mind and body. She died on February 13th, 2006.

Mr. Zhou Shimin was a teacher in Tangxi Village, Gaocun Town, Wendeng City, Shandong Province. After he started practising Falun Dafa in 1994, his heart problem, high blood pressure, and other illnesses all disappeared without a trace. After the persecution began, he kept explaining the truth of Falun Dafa with his own experience to the public. As a result, he was constantly harassed and once detained and forced to go through brainwashing, causing great damage to his mind and body. He passed away on June 8th, 2003, at the age of 65.

Mr. Wang Tianxiang, around 50, was a practitioner in Qitaihe City, Heilongjiang Province. In 1998, his wife began the practice of Falun Gong and soon gained good health. Seeing that his wife was free of illness and able to do housework again, he was inspired and also started to practise the same year. Not surprisingly, his illnesses also went away. In 2003, his wife was forced to leave home in order to avoid arrest. In March 2005, Mr. Wang developed severe oedema and asthma. With fellow practitioners' help, he became better. However, in early 2006, the police constantly harassed him. As a result, his symptoms recurred, and he died on February 23rd, 2006.
