After the Sujiatun Concentration Camp was exposed on the Internet, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Central Committee secretly sent people to Sujiatun on the evening of March 13th, 2006. They held meetings with the District Head of the local government, the police department, the Procuratorate, the Department of Justice, the District Court, and the Public Health Bureau to make plans to deal with the repercussions.

In front of the Sujiatun District CCP Committee Compound is the entrance of an underground facility that was originally designed as a bomb shelter. The top was covered with trees and has since been converted to a public square.

The back gate of the Sujiatun Central Hospital has been changed into a patient visiting office that directly faces the square. In the past few years, the Sujiatun Central Hospital has undergone many large scale renovations, including remodelling, expansion, and being equipped with advanced equipment.
