Ms. Li Suxue from Fengtai District in Beijing Died Under Persecution in Detention
2009-04-08
On October 1st, 2008, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Suxue, 49 years old, was tortured to death at a forced labour camp. After Ms. Li's death, her family asked that her body be released to them. Authorities from the forced labour camp refused to release the body and forbade anyone to take pictures or videotape the body. They did not allow practitioners to attend Li Suxue's funeral and arrested those who came to pay their last respects at the funeral. -
Mr. Huang Weizhong Once Again Persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party Even after His Wife Was Tortured to Death
2009-04-07On February 12th, 2009, police officers arrested Mr. Huang Weizhong at home. Since he did not co-operate with the police, he was severely beaten. The police tied up his hands and legs and beat him. One of his shoes was knocked off. His eyelids were extremely swollen and one of he almost lost sight in one of them. As a result of the beating, he became incontinent. The police tried to force him to sign to a list of things confiscated from his house. Mr. Huang Weizhong's wife, Zhang Xiaogeng, had been jailed for three years and tortured in Jiamusi Forced Labour Camp. As a result of the different forms of persecution, she died on September 13th, 2006. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Wang Meiying Tortured to Death in Shandong Province
2009-04-06Police arrested Ms. Wang. She was held at the Chiping County Detention Centre for two days, and then secretly taken to Jinan Women's Forced Labour Camp, without notifying her family. Ms. Wang went on a hunger strike to protest being persecuted. Guards at the labour camp tortured her inhumanly with brutal torture methods, such as sitting on a small stool for long times and standing facing a wall. Besides, she was cruelly force-fed three times. The tube through which she was fed was forced into her and severely damaged her right lung. The injury to the lung caused it to stop functioning. On March 22nd, 2009, she came down with a fever and she died the following day. -
Mr. Li Yukun of Zhucheng City Died As a Result of Persecution
2009-04-02For eight years, Mr Li Yukun suffered inhuman persecution at the hands of officers from the Zhucheng City Police Department and the Xiangzhou Town Police Station. In 2008 Li Yukun went to Qingdao City to visit his uncle. In the railway station police officers checked his ID card and then arrested him. The officers called the local police station and Mr. Li was taken to a nearby school. The officers asked him if he was still practising Falun Gong. Mr Li refused to answer as they wished, so the officers flew into a rage and intensified the persecution against him. As a result, he was devastated both mentally and physically. On August 14th, 2008, he developed heart problems, and on August 16th, he passed away. -
A Fellow Practitioner Recounts How Ms. Wang Fengqin from Yantai City, Shandong Province, Died as a Result of Persecution Six Years Ago
2009-04-01I am a Falun Gong practitioner in Yantai City. Here I want to tell how policeman Gao Xiu and several collaborators [former practitioners who have turned against Falun Gong under brainwashing and torture. They are then made to assist in brainwashing and torturing practitioners] caused the death of Ms. Wang Fengqin by force-feeding six years ago, in 2003. They even planned to kill me at that time to cover up the facts. -
Mr. Chang Guiyou Died in Custody in 2005
2009-03-31In June 2004, Falun Gong practitioner Chang Guiyou was taken to the Tongzhou District Detention Centre. Then he was sentenced to three years of imprisonment. In late November 2004, he was taken to the Qianjing Prison in Tianjin City. In March 2005, while detained in Beijing City Women's Prison, His wife was notified that her husband was critically ill. Both his nose and mouth were bleeding, and his head was wrapped with gauze. Later, she was notified that he died of a cerebral haemorrhage, at the age of 55. -
The Persecution of Sun Hongchang and His Wife and Son
2009-03-27In June 2003, Falun Gong practitioner Mrs. Wang Junxia, the wife of Mr. Sun Hongchang was arrested by the Fushun police and tortured to death because she would not give up practising Falun Gong and cultivating Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. At that time, their son, Sun Feng, was just 12 years old. He got sick and died on August 25th, 2005. Mr. Sun Hongchang was tortured to disability by the Fushun City Police Department and the Qingyuan County Police Department. Currently, he is being detained in the Qingyuan County Detention Centre. -
Ms. Ma Xiulan, 69, Dies Due to Abuse in Detention

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Ma Xiulan, 69 years old, was arrested and detained in the Nanhai District Detention Centre in June 2008. She was inhumanly tortured, forced to sleep on the cement floor, shocked with an electric baton, and beaten, resulting in bruises all over her body. On January 6th, 2009, the Centre suddenly notified her family to pick her up from the police hospital. Ms. Ma died on March 16th, 2009. -
Mr. Jiang Xiqing from Chongqing Dies Due to Persecution--His Family Harassed
2009-03-23On January 28th, 2009, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Jiang Xiqing was persecuted to death while he was imprisoned in the Xishanping Forced Labour Camp. The case details were exposed at home and abroad. His family members submitted an appeal letter to the National People's Congress, Appeals Office, Police Department, Judicature Bureau, and Procuratorate in Chongqing City. In the relevant departments they addressed, there were many officials with a conscience, and people who expressed deep sympathy and were willing to offer help. However, some officials in high-level management positions ignored the immense amount of grief Mr. Jiang's family members suffered, and continually harassed them and threatened them for appealing the case. -
Inmates at Jinzhou Prison Send Out Appeal Letter after Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Zhang Litian Was Beaten to Death

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Litian died on November 17th, 2008 in Jinzhou Prison in Liaoning Province. Inmates from Jinzhou Prison's No. 20 Section found a way to send out an appeal letter, exposing that Mr. Zhang was cruelly beaten to death by guards and inmates in the No. 20 Section. They request that the deaths of Mr. Zhang Litian and other practitioners are investigated and that the prison stop persecuting them. -
Suspicious Death of Mr. Ran Long
2009-03-21Mr. Ran Long, 46, was sentenced to two years of forced labour for practising Falun Gong in 2002. The camp forced Mr. Ran to go through brainwashing for more than twenty days, which made his blood pressure really shoot up. The administrators were afraid he might die, so they released him. Later, Mr. Ran had to leave home to avoid being arrested. He was hired as a chef by a hotel. On February 23rd, 2009, the hotel called his wife, saying he had failed to come in to work and was last seen off work on the afternoon of February 21st. On February 26th, they received a call from the Yangxin County police that they had found a body by the roadside. The body was identified as Mr. Ran. His family saw a large hole in his head, and his nose, eyes, and ears were oozing blood. -
Practitioner Mr. Xu Dawei Died as a Result of Gross Abuse from Persecution--Dongling Prison Officials Shirk Responsibility and Intimidate His Family

Mr. Xu Dawei was a 34-year-old Falun Gong practitioner, was grossly abused and mistreated for eight years in four prisons. The last place was Dongling Prison in Shenyang City. He died on February 16th, 2009, less than two weeks after his release from this prison. On February 27th, Xu's family went to Dongling Prison to request information regarding his abuse. Officials tried everything to deny their involvement in Mr. Xu's death and three guards lied to the family. -
Two Practitioners, from Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and Hebei Province, Died As a Result of Persecution
2009-03-18Ms. Xie Cha followed the principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in all aspects of her daily life. She was considerate of others in all respects. Since the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong began in 1999, Ms. Xie has been persistent in her belief. Therefore, she was treated as a key persecution target by the CCP. She was harassed, threatened, monitored and detained by Party agents. Before the Olympic Games, the town government dispatched its staff members to harass Xie Cha repeatedly, and tried to force her to write an statement to give up Falun Gong. Under huge pressure, she was utterly exhausted both physically and mentally. Her health worsened rapidly. Ms. Xie passed away on January 24th, 2009, only in her forties. -
Brother Persecuted to Death and Sister Sentenced to Prison
2009-03-14Ms. Zou Lizhi and Mr. Zou Zhongyou, her younger brother, both practitioners, continued their Falun Gong practice despite the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong that began on July 20th, 1999. They were arrested, detained, and sentenced to forced labour and jail several times. Zou Zhongyou was persecuted to death in the Jinzhou City Forced Labour Camp two years ago. He was only thirty-five years-old. His sister, Zou Lizhi, was sentenced to nine months in Masanjia Forced Labour Camp. On February 12th of this year, the Yi County Court sentenced her to five years in jail. She is now in the Liaoning Province Women's Prison. -
Ms. Lu Fengying Dies as a Result of the Heightened Persecution Surrounding the Olympic Games
2009-03-14Ms. Lu Fengying was a Falun Gong practitioner in Sichuan Province. Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, CCP agents in Dalin Town have tried to force every local practitioner to write statements stating that they will give up Falun Gong. Ms. Lu, who once went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, was monitored closely. Her home was searched and her Falun Gong books and leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong were seized. Under the persecution, Ms. Lu became very confused. She told everyone she met, "I am not allowed to practise the exercises. What should I do?" She passed away in December 2008 while facing false charges.
