Shulan City 610 Office Arrests Falun Gong Practitioners
2012-04-12
The 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) and police departments in several Chinese cities used the excuse of “maintaining social stability” to harass and arrest Falun Gong practitioners in March 2012 during the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) two meetings—the National Party Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. In Shulan City, Jilin Province, a brainwashing centre was set up in the Grain Bureau Guest House to detain local practitioners. -
Military Officer Detained Ten Years and Still Denied Residential Registration a Year After Release
2012-04-11Major Wang Youjiang was imprisoned for ten years for practising Falun Gong. Although he was released one year ago, his family is still being repeatedly harassed by the local Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and the local police. His elderly parents' life has been severely disrupted. Mr. Wang applied for his required resident registration and identification ID in April 2011. Almost a year has passed. Wang Yujuan, a policewoman of the Resident Registration Administration Office in Yongdeng Police Department, continually made excuses for the delay. She said: “We are still trying to drive away those Falun Gong practitioners currently in our local area. How can we receive a new one?” Her tone and the look in her eyes expressed extreme hatred toward Falun Gong and practitioners. -
Hydropower Contractor Persecuted in Guangdong Sihui Prison in Worrying Health
2012-04-11Mr. Long Guande used to own millions in assets and is now bankrupt as a result of the persecution. Mr. Long was arrested by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) authorities in September 2007, and was severely injured as a result of being brutally beaten. In May of 2009, he was sentenced to seven years in prison by the Guangzhou City Tianhe District Court. Mr. Long was incarcerated in the Guangdong Sihui Prison and tortured using a method called the “Human Instrument of Torture.” Before the 2012 Chinese New Year, Mr. Long's family went to visit him. He looked aged and was very thin. He told his family that his weight had dropped from 145 lbs. to about 100 lbs. -
Organ Transplant Investigation: Zhongshan Hospital Carried Out 1000 Living-Donor Liver Transplants in 10 Years, and other Leads
2012-04-10On August 1st, 2011, Xuhui Newspaper published a report: From 2001 to August 1st, 2011, in ten years, Zhongshan Hospital's liver surgery section performed 1000 living-donor liver transplants. The source of the organs used in Zhongshan Hospital's liver transplants is suspicious. It is known that the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners was most rampant in 2001. Under the regime's genocidal policy where “beating to death counts as suicide and the bodies are directly cremated without informing family members”, police and doctors nationwide were enticed to perform live organ harvesting for huge profits. As more evidence of the regime's live harvesting of organs from Falun Gong practitioners is exposed, further investigations will be conducted on each case of live organ harvesting. -
Elderly Mr. Chen Ruixian from Sichuan Arrested and His Family Threatened
2012-04-10Mr. Chen Ruixian, in his 70s from Nanchong, was taken away from his home by police on March 16th, directly to the Xishan Brainwashing Centre in Nanchong. When his wife and granddaughter went to inquire about him, Lei Yi threatened them and said he would send them to a forced labour camp. Mr. Chen started to practise Falun Gong in 1996. Because he did not give up practising, he was detained in a forced labour camp between December 1999 and May 2000. Afterwards his home was repeatedly ransacked, and he was fined, harassed and questioned. His pension was also suspended. -
More Than 30 Practitioners Recently Arrested in Tangshan City, Hebei Province
2012-04-09Liu Jianguo, party secretary of the Tangshan Politics and Judiciary Committee plotted a persecution of Falun Gong practitioners on February 21st, 2012, using the excuse that it was for the security of the National People's Congress Conference and People's Political Consultative Conference. On February 25th, more than twenty arrests were made in the Tangshan area, and more than thirty practitioners were arrested. There are currently still more than 20 practitioners being detained in the detention centres. -
After Gaining a New Life through Practising Falun Gong, Ms. Zhu Guying is Repeatedly Arrested
2012-04-09Ms. Zhu Guiying, 65, was previously known in her workplace as a sickly person. She is now retired. In 1996 she started to practise Falun Gong. Not only did she gain a healthy body but also became a warmhearted person, and moreover, tried her best to help others. However during the persecution of Falun Gong launched by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) she was arrested again and again by the authorities, and was tortured in many cruel ways. On February 8th, 2012, Zhu Guiying was once again arrested. We are asking the international community to pay attention to the case of Ms. Zhu Guiying, who is still imprisoned and persecuted at the Jinan Liuchangshan Brainwashing Centre. -
Mr. Li Xilu, 58, Dies as a Result of Torture in Xinmi Prison, Zhengzhou City
2012-04-08Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Xilu was sentenced to three years in prison in March 2011. The police took him to the Xinmi Prison and then notified his family. Mr. Li died at the age of 58 on March 9th, 2012 in the Ninth Prison District in Xinmi Prison. The details about the persecution he suffered are under investigation. On March 9th, his family received a notice from the prison authorities saying that Mr. Li was in critical condition. When the family arrived, Mr. Li had already died. The prison authorities were still pretending to rescue him, claiming that Mr. Li had high blood pressure and diabetes. In an attempt to destroy the evidence at the earliest time, they took the initiative to help the family go through the procedures of cremation. -
Ms. Wang Hui, a Nurse at Harbin Medical University Hospital, Suffers Mental Collapse Due to Torture in Forced Labour Camp
2012-04-08Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Hui suffered a mental collapse after being incarcerated in Qianjin Forced Labour Camp for only three months. Ms. Wang's father learned about his daughter's situation and is very worried. He went to the labour camp recently to visit her. The camp authorities refused to allow him to see her, as they are afraid of their bad deeds being exposed. The guards think that she is pretending and do not have any sympathy for her. Guard Fu Min beat her with a billy club. Inmate Wang Fang slapped her face and beat her. Chief guard Wang Xiaowei created many obstructions for her and forced her to do hard labour. -
Computer Shop Owner Arrested and Robbed Before He Could Open for Business
2012-04-07On February 25th, many Falun Gong practitioners from Tangshan City, Shijiazhuang City, Cangzhou City, Botou City were arrested by the local police. Among them were Mr. Gao Yanchen and his wife. Police barged into the home of Mr. Gao and ransacked it. They took away his child's computer, three mobile phones, and Falun Gong books. The Gaos have two sets of parents and two young children to care for, one of whom is only 2 years old. His wife does not have a job, and Mr. Gao has been working very hard to support his family. They are rather poor and so, to improve their financial situation, Mr. Gao was going to start a computer business. Just before he was to open the doors of his new business, the police arrested him and confiscated all of his merchandise. -
Ms. Wang Meiling Suffers Blurred Vision Due to Torture at Yunnan Second Prison
2012-04-07On August 8th, 2011, Ms. Wang Meiling was sentenced to three years in prison and incarcerated in Yunnan Second Women's Prison. Due to her family's persistent efforts, they finally were able to visit her three months later and discovered that she suffered blurred vision as a result of torture. As soon as she arrived at the prison she was forced to sit for a long time. When she could not do it, the prison guard forced her to stand for over 20 days until her legs were swollen. After that, they forced her to alternate sitting and standing. The guards did not allow her to step out of the cell. -
Older Dalian Practitioner Mr. Zhao Fei Dies after Ten Years of Persecution
2012-04-06Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhao Fei was sentenced to forced labour three times, detained five times and taken to a brainwashing centre once. At Masanjia Forced Labour Camp, he was severely tortured until his life was in imminent danger. After he returned home, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials constantly harassed him. He was also summoned several times to court in September 2010. To avoid further persecution, he was forced to leave home. After more than ten years of being tortured, harassed and/or detained, he passed away on December 31st, 2011 at the age of 54. -
Thirty-six Practitioners Sent to Forced Labour Camp after Large-scale Arrests in Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province
2012-04-06Over 50 Falun Gong practitioners from Harbin and Shuangcheng City were arrested on November 13th, 2011. Among these practitioners, 36 have been sent to forced labour camps and seven are facing court trials and possible prison sentences. Ms. Wang Min is a physics teacher. She is in charge of a 9th grade class that will soon take the critical senior high school entrance exams. One of her students said, “My best luck in life is that I met Teacher Wang Min.” One of her students even quit school because Ms. Wang was sent to a forced labour camp. -
Elderly Ms. Zhou Suqiong from Jintang County, Chengdu City, Dies after Being Tortured in Custody
2012-04-05Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhou Suqiong, 74, received a notice from the Shuicheng Police Station on October 27th, 2011, saying that she should go to the police station to have her photo taken for a new identification card. At 11:00 p.m. that day, police notified Ms. Zhou's son to get Ms. Zhou, who was in a coma. But the officer lied, saying, “She is asleep. Don't wake her up.” Ms. Zhou's son carried his mother home. The next morning, Ms. Zhou didn't wake up. They then found bruises on her back, adhesive tape on her chest, and excrement in her mouth. Her son realized that he had been deceived and took his mother right away to hospital. Ms. Zhou passed away on February 8th, 2012. Her family did not dare talk to other Falun Gong practitioners about the situation due to the authorities' threats and financial restrictions. -
Mr. Shi Zenglei Beaten, Dragged Behind a Motorcycle, and Scalded with Boiling Water
2012-04-05Mr. Shi Zenglei's mind and body improved tremendously after he began to practise Falun Gong. After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began persecuting practitioners in July 1999, he went to Beijing to appeal and was held at a detention centre. In 2002, Mr. Shi was arrested and sent to a brainwashing centre. Guards beat Mr. Shi brutally. They also bound both his hands with wires and tied him to a motorcycle, drove it, dragging Mr. Shi behind. His flesh was ripped open. Lei Yancheng, head of the Mengyin 610 Office, poured boiling water over Mr. Shi's face and body, causing burns in many places. Mr. Shi was sentenced to 11 years of imprisonment, sent to Shandong Province Prison and beaten.
