The Annual German International Human Rights Conference was held in the “human rights capital of Germany” — Nuremberg. Practitioners volunteered to be divided into two groups to clarify the truth inside and outside the meeting room. Those who clarified the truth outside were practitioners from various cities in Germany. The practitioners who practised the exercises outside the meeting room moved the representatives attending the Conference, and they stayed there for a long time. When asking for their signatures for a petition, without hesitation, they said: “Certainly I will sign.” When asked to write to the German Chancellor and President to urge the Chinese dictator Jiang to immediately stop his brutal persecution, they agreed to take it into consideration. They told practitioners that when confronting economic problems and moral problems, rulers might often side with the economy. That’s why the dictator can be as vicious as a tumour.

Several practitioners arrived at the venue four hours before the Conference convened to collect signatures and clarify the truth. They talked to almost every participant face to face. Many participants from English-speaking countries directly went to the Conference Hall from the airport with their luggage. Western practitioners took advantage of this golden opportunity to clarify the truth while other practitioners collected signatures or handed out Dafa materials. Almost every participant entered the Conference Hall with a newspaper that exposed the evil persecution and called for an end to the brutal killing in China.

Falun Gong was not on the agenda, but participants were able to pass motions. All the practitioners attending the Conference raised their hands. A practitioner who obtained permission to pass a motion said that he would like to pass the motion to Zhao Ming. As a result, Zhao Ming got the chance to elaborate on the details of how his freedom of belief was cruelly deprived and how he was mentally tortured during his two years in prison. After the Conference was adjourned, an elderly man said: “That Chinese man was imprisoned for two years. That’s terrible. I’ve never heard of this kind of persecution.”

Opposite to the Conference Hall was a walkway, where many Chinese were passing by. Chinese people’s reactions were diverse upon seeing Dafa banners. Some just came forward to ask for truth-clarification materials. Others said they have read the information elsewhere. Still others accepted the materials without saying a word, though they already knew that the material contained a truth-clarification booklet and CD. A couple of hours after taking the materials, a father came back along with his son to ask practitioners to tell his ten-year-old-son about Falun Gong and the meaning of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance in German. He then left happily. Upon seeing the banner reading “Falun Gong is Good”, a lady who was driving by stopped to take Chinese materials and CDs.

Reporters from Allgemeiine Deutsche Rundfunkanstalten and RTL videotaped practitioners practising the exercises and the banners and exhibition boards reading, “Urgent call for Media and Governments Worldwide to Stop China’s State Terrorism against Falun Gong Practitioners”, and, “The world needs Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance”. A local TV station in Nuremberg interviewed practitioners who were collecting signatures and got detailed information about the facts of the evil persecution. Attracted by the beautiful music and the harmonious movements of the Falun Gong exercises, passers-by stopped to watch for a long time. After watching the exhibition, some people volunteered to sign their names. Some others asked deeper questions about Falun Gong. Even people who didn’t sign their names before, wanted to sign after watching the exercise demonstration.

Generally speaking, after understanding the truth, most people expressed that the situation in China was very serious and that the persecution of practitioners who believe in Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance was equivalent to the persecution of humanity's basic morals and is against humankind.

Several sets of media both inside and outside the Conference Hall interviewed Zhao Ming. Nuremberg Daily News, one of the sponsors of the International Human Rights Annual Conference, also interviewed some practitioners.
