On September 26 2002, Copenhagen police made a special trip to Hotel Ibis and formally apologized to a Greek Falun Gong practitioner for wrongfully arresting him. The police delivered a statement initiated by an attorney for the Denmark police.

According to the European Falun Dafa Information Centre, on September 24 2002, Chinese agents put pressure on Danish Police, causing the arrest of a Falun Gong practitioner who politely addressed a visiting Chinese leader in the hotel lobby. That evening at the SAS Radisson hotel in the centre of Copenhagen, a family of 3 Falun Gong practitioners, a husband, a pregnant wife and a 10-year-old daughter made a peaceful appeal to the Chinese leader to help stop the persecution and torture of innocent Falun Gong practitioners in China. They approached the Premier and the husband said, "Good evening! Falun Dafa is good!" The family was then taken away and interrogated by Danish police under pressure from the Chinese authorities. The husband was arrested without any warrant, handcuffed and driven off to the police station. But after investigation, he was released with no charge. The policeman in charge of this case said to Mr. Peter Jauhal from the European Falun Dafa Association that they found there had been nothing wrong with the arrested practitioner’s behaviour.

Through practitioners and this family's truth clarification to the police, many policeman gained a basic understanding of Falun Gong and the persecution against Falun Gong practitioners. They promptly expressed their support to Falun Gong practitioners.
