On September 29 2002, Former Cabinet member Jack Lang MP clearly expressed his full support to Falun Gong. Mr. Lang met Falun Gong practitioners who were promoting Dafa in front of the Bastille Opera House and made the statement.

It was a bright sunny day in Paris. The streets were crowded with peoples from all over the world. In the evening, Falun Gong practitioners came to Bastille Square and held SOS Urgent Rescue activities to clarify the truth in front of the Bastille Opera House. The exhibition boards exposing the Jiang regime’s brutal persecution attracted many people. Dafa flyers were distributed to the public. Practitioner Zhao Ming from Ireland told of the inhuman tortures he suffered during his two years of detention in a Chinese forced labour camp.

Just after the activities started, MP Jack Lang and his wife passed through the area while walking and were attracted by the Falun Gong exhibition. Mr. Jack Lang has served as the Minister for Culture, Minister for Education and is a Professor of Law. He has a very admirable reputation in French society. During his time as Minister for Education, he had made many efforts to rescue French Practitioner and Ph.D. candidate Chi Jian and his family and Ireland practitioner and master degree student Zhao Ming.

Practitioners expressed sincere appreciation for Mr. Lang’s righteous actions. Mr. Lang said humbly that it was the least he could do. He felt very relieved that Zhao Ming eventually regained his freedom. He also inquired of Zhao Ming’s study. Mr. Lang ensured practitioners that he will continue his firm support to Falun Gong.
