The Huanan Forestry Bureau Detains Dafa Practitioners Indefinitely

Dafa practitioner Xia Zhiliang from the Huanan Forestry Bureau was arrested by police on January 7, 2001 at his home, and was detained. Since Xia firmly believed in Dafa, he was sent to Xigemu forced labour camp in Jiamusi for a one-and-a-half-year sentence.

Although he was tortured in the forced labour camp, he still didn't give up his belief in Dafa. On July 16, 2002, his forced labour camp term came to an end, but the Huanan Forestry Bureau police escorted Xia back on July 15, 2002, and kept him in detention locally.

Xia's family members went to ask for Xia's release, but the police station of Huanan Forestry Bureau replied: "No release as long as he is not transformed." The policemen paid no respect to the law and arrested people at will at their homes, keeping them detained even though their unjust terms had ended, leaving Xia's wife and child helpless with a heavy burden of debt and mental anguish.

The Huanan Forestry Bureau detention centre also jailed another three Dafa practitioners: Guo Ren-ai, Zhang Yu-qin, and Cao Xiu-lan.

Among them, Guo Ren-ai is a middle school teacher. The suburban Beijing Changping detention centre detained Guo in January 2001 when she went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa. She was released in May 2001 after a hunger strike. After returning home, she was detained once more. She went on hunger strike again to protest the illegal detention, and was physically very weak. Two labour camps have refused to accept her, but the Huanan Forestry Bureau detention centre has detained her nonetheless, refusing to release her. Her life has been in a critical situation several times during the detention period and she had also been hospitalised several times. The detention centre still refuses to release her.

We hope fellow practitioners who hear this news will expose the evil acts against our fellow practitioners.
