At approximately 3:00 p.m. on July 17th, 2012, Tong Yan, the Taitou Shangxiang Police Station director in Pingquan County, led two policemen and broke into Han Jingyu's home in Xiaojigou Village. They ransacked and searched his home, confiscated two bags of Falun Gong materials exposing the persecution, then arrested the 72-year-old Falun Gong practitioner. Later, they went to practitioner Ms. Gao Jinglin's home. She was watching the New Tang Dynasty TV channel at the time. The officers took pictures, confiscated some equipment, then arrested Ms. Gao. The police proceeded to practitioner Yu Hanying's home. They found two DVDs and two letters containing Falun Gong content. Yu Hanying managed to escape from her home.

During the course of these break-ins, ransackings and arrests, the police officers failed to display any legal search warrants, nor did they give receipts for the confiscated items. It is believed that these arrests were ordered by the Pingquan County 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong). They ordered police to harass practitioners one after another, and to arrest anyone possessing Falun Gong materials.

Falun Gong practitioners have suffered from brutal persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for thirteen years. They have been subjected to tremendous physical and mental torture. Hundreds of practitioners in Pingquan County were arrested, their homes ransacked and were extorted money. They have been sentenced to forced labour camps, persecuted to death, or forced to leave home to avoid further persecution. Numerous practitioners lost their jobs because they refused to renounce their beliefs. Officials from the Pingquan Public Security Bureau, and local towns and villages have jointly committed countless crimes.
