Ms. Liu Ruihuan lived in the Huanxing Residential Area on South Tiyu Avenue in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province. Ms. Li was arrested in Beijing in January 2002. Since that time, her whereabouts have been unknown. She was 55.

In December 1999 and April 2000, Ms. Li and other Falun Gong practitioners went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. Upon her return home, she was arrested and detained by officers from the Yucaijie Police Station. After that, Ms. Li was detained whenever there was a so-called “sensitive day.” Her pension was also suspended.

In May 2000, Ms. Li was detained at the Yucaijie Detention Centre. Because she did the Falun Gong exercises in detention, she was beaten. Her hair was pulled out by the handful. She was held in the detention centre twice.

Ms. Li and other practitioners again went to Beijing, on January 14th, 2002, to appeal for Falun Gong. They shouted, “Falun Gong is good!” Ms. Li was never seen again. It was reported that Ms. Li had been beaten by the Beijing police so severely that she could not walk.

Her husband, daughter-in-law, a school-age daughter, and a two-year-old grandson are at home waiting for her. Ten years have passed, and her family has no idea where she is. This has caused them great suffering.
