Practitioners in Germany held activities in Kulmbach on September 24 and October 1, 2011 to raise awareness about the persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and at the same time support the more than 100 million Chinese people who have withdrawn from the CCP and its affiliated organizations. Many people stopped to view the display boards and talk with practitioners, and many signed the petition to express their support to stop the persecution.

An elderly couple passed by and after they listened to the audio recording revealing the CCP's crimes of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners, they signed the petition together. Another elderly man walked closer to the audio speaker and listened for a long time and then he signed the petition.

A middle-aged man listened to the audio recording that exposed the persecution and asked a practitioner, “Why does the CCP want to persecute Falun Gong? I have a copy of Zhuan Falun [the main text of Falun Dafa practice]. I can't understand why the CCP has been so cruel in persecuting Falun Gong.” The practitioner told him that since Falun Gong was first introduced to the public in 1992, until July 1999, within seven years, nearly 100 million people had taken up the practice, as estimated by the Ministry of Public Security. Among the practitioners, many were Party members and government officials and this made dictator Jiang Zemin jealous, and he thus ordered the brutal persecution of Falun Gong.

Background

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a traditional Chinese spiritual discipline for mind and body. The practice involves slow, gentle movements and meditation. It is easy to learn, enjoyable to practice, and free of charge. Its principles are based on Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. The practice was first introduced by Master Li Hongzhi in China in 1992 and quickly spread by word of mouth throughout China and then beyond. Its beneficial effects in uplifting an individual's physical health, spiritual well-being, and moral character, not to mention its positive influence in the community and society as a whole, have been undeniable. Today, Falun Gong is practiced by over 100 million people worldwide. The main works of Falun Gong are available in over 30 languages.

On July 20, 1999, the Chinese Communist Party launched a brutal persecution of Falun Gong. Since the start of the persecution, practitioners throughout the world have been speaking out about the facts of Falun Gong and exposing the CCP's crimes in a tireless effort to end the persecution. The persecution has not only targeted Falun Gong practitioners' belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, but is also an attempt to destroy society's moral principles and spiritual values.
