Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Jia Guirong was arrested by officers from the Baicheng police station in Qinhuangdao City and taken back to Baicheng.

After Ms. Jia started to practise Falun Gong, her chronic diseases disappeared and she became healthy. In 2008, officials from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) arrested her. Later, she and her family moved to Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province.

On the morning of September 1st, while Ms. Jia was cooking at home, a plainclothes police officer from Baicheng City, Jilin Province, and six to seven local officers from the industrial district police station of Qinhuangdao, barged in, saying “You're on bail pending trial,” arrested her, and took her to Daan City Detention Centre, which is under the jurisdiction of Baicheng City.

Their justification for arresting her at this time was because of something that took place three and half years earlier. On March 10th, 2008, Ms. Jia's family of three took a taxicab to visit relatives, who lived at the outskirts of Baicheng City. They exposed the persecution of Falun Gong to the taxi driver but he reported them to the police. At around noontime, three plainclothes police officers arrived at their relatives home, arrested Ms. Jia, her husband, and their child, and took them to the Baicheng City Police Station. The police also ransacked their home and confiscated Falun Gong books, 700 yuan1, and other personal items. Those who personally took part in this act of persecution were officers from the Baicheng's State Security brigade, its vice captain Zhao Fuquan, Xing Haitao, and others.

Ms. Jia's husband and their daughter were released that same day, but Ms. Jia herself was taken to the Baicheng Detention Centre. Later, due to a relapse of her heart disease, she was released on bail. Thereafter, she and her family moved to Qinhuangdao City. However, officials from the Baicheng City state security brigade have not stopped asking about Ms. Jia's situation, and increased pressure on her relatives, who signed her bail. This incident occurred three and a half years ago as it was recorded.

Jia Guirong, a kindergarten teacher, was popular in the Baicheng Western Cotton Weaving Factory back then. Her young students were solidly prepared for their later primary school education. Because of her good reputation, more and more parents brought their young children to her classes. Personnel at the school indicated that she had students everywhere.

Because of her busy teaching schedule, her health became even worse, causing her to have serious heart disease, gynecological problems, neurasthenia, gastritis, frozen shoulder pain, and other ailments, which tormented her. She had to rely on drugs all the time in order to keep her going. Thus, she spent most of her income looking a cure for her sicknesses.

In 1996, she found Falun Gong and started to practise. After she became a practitioner, her illnesses disappeared, and her health improved. Having a healthy body, she had more energy and time to work at the kindergarten, which improved her quality of life a great deal.

She continuously studied the Falun Gong book, Zhuan Falun, which describes the standards for being a good person based on Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, indicating how a kindergarten teacher should walk on her righteous path of life.

This good and kind kindergarten teacher, after her life was renewed through Falun Gong, has been arrested, detained, and her home ransacked many times since July 20th, 1999, because of her solid belief in and for exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. In 2001, during the time she was incarcerated in Baicheng City Detention Centre, she even passed out several times because of a serious relapse of her heart disease. Before the CCP's police officers arrested her in 2008, street-office personnel and local police officers harassed her and her family on and before the government's sensitive days, and neighbours were also notified to monitor their activities. That is to say that life for Jia Guirong and her family, in this atmosphere of intense pressure and threats, has been very difficult.
