Sixty-two years ago, on October 1, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) obtained the power to govern China. On Saturday October 1, the British Association of Quitting the Communist Party held a rally in London's Chinatown, exposing the evil history of the Chinese Communist Party, and calling upon Chinese people to recognise the nature of it and quit.

Due to the nice weather this weekend, many tourists came to the Chinatown. A lot of them accepted leaflets from the rally attendees. At 1:00 p.m., the attendees held a press conference. Several guests gave speeches.

Dr. Li, the organiser of the rally, told the reporter that the rally has gained many supporters. “The council of Westminster has always been supportive. Many Chinese people also expressed their support. There were many Chinese people listening to the speeches. Some Chinese people had never heard about the quitting the CCP effort. They wanted to know the details. Some, who had heard about it, were considering joining the trend. It is very meaningful to have such a rally in Chinatown. Today 130 Chinese people quit the party with our help,” said Dr. Li.

Ms. Lucy Jin from the Democracy Association in England gave a speech in English and Chinese at the rally. She commented that it is sad to see that some Chinese people, who live in a free country, don't dare to say “no” to the CCP. She called upon people to learn more about the trend of quitting the party, which is an awakening sign. She said, “China belongs to Chinese people, not a political party. China will survive because of its culture, history, and kind people.”

Seventy-year-old Ms. Su came from another city to give a speech at the rally. She said that 14 people in her family had quit the party. She told the stories of her family members who have been persecuted by the CCP. “I come here to tell you the true stories. The CCP has been torturing Chinese people. But many people don't know about it,” she said. Ms. Liang, a Falun Gong practitioner, described her own experience of being persecuted by the CCP.

Many Westerners also listened to the speeches and accepted the materials. Some of them commented that the activity was meaningful, for it will help people to learn about the history and not make the same mistake in the future.
