Australia: Falun Gong Practitioners Participate in Joondalup Festival Parade

Joondalup is a satellite city located north of Perth, the capital of West Australia. The annual Joondalup Festival is among the biggest and most important events in the area. This year, Falun Gong practitioners participated in the Joondalup Festival parade on March 26th, 2011.

The annual parade has been held for thirteen years and demonstrates the diverse cultures in Joondalup. This year’s parade attracted nearly ten thousand spectators. The Falun Gong practitioners in the parade included a golden dragon dance team and waist drum players, as well as young practitioners carrying paper lotus flowers and balloons. The practitioners were well received by the spectators.

A number of spectators clapped their hands along with the music Falun Dafa Is Good and Jubilation. Some gave the practitioners the thumbs up. Kids were happy to receive paper lotus flowers and balloons from young practitioners. Many local people became acquainted with Falun Gong from the parade.
