Mr. Li Yanling, Ms. Xing Yue and Ms. Li Yanping are Falun Gong practitioners in Leting County, Hebei Province. The three women were arrested recently and have since been held in Leting County Detention Centre. Their families are denied visitation rights. Below are the details.

Ms. Li Yanling

Around 6:00 am on May 25th, 2010, a plainclothes policeman from Leting County Domestic Security Division and two other agents scaled the fence of Li Yanling's home and broke into it. The three men checked everywhere in the living room before opening the door to a bedroom, using a key Li had hanging on her motor tricycle. Spotting a computer in the room, they immediately called in more help, including special agents, and 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) head Wang Jizhong and his staff. These people seized Li Yanling's computer, printer, motor tricycle, a savings deposit book for 10,000 yuan1, as well as 16,000 yuan in cash. After ransacking her home, they took her to the local police station. Li was transferred to a Leting County lockup facility the next day, and then to Leting County Detention Centre on June 4th.

Li Yanling made a living as a tricycle driver. Her family requested the return of the property numerous times, only to be intimidated and threatened. Domestic Security Division head Zang Shiming and political head Qian Hongzhong were personally involved in Li Yanling's arrest.

Li Yanling's mother and older brother were also persecuted on many occasions. Her mother Li Shuyan, in her 60s, was once held in Leting County Detention Centre for more than one year in 2000. She was sentenced to two years in June 2007.

Ms. Li Yanping and Ms. Xing Yue

After the persecution of Falun Gong began in 1999, agents from the 610 Office ordered the police to arrest and detain Ms. Li Yanping, 48, at the police station. She went on a hunger strike for 24 days to protest their brutal beatings. The police paraded her together with criminals on the street to humiliate her. Not long after, the police decided to send her to a labour camp. They duct-taped her mouth shut, forcibly stuffed her into the police car and drove her to a labour camp. After they arrived at the labour camp, Li Yanping told the camp guards of her positive changes since practising Falun Gong. In the end, the labour camp refused to accept her. The police had no choice but take her back to Leting.

Xing Yue, 32, used to suffer from a very poor health and had a bad temper. After she took up Falun Gong practice, all her illnesses disappeared. She became a much better person by following the principles of Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance. She is considerate of others and became a hard-working employee who never fought for prestige or interest. Her supervisors and colleagues regarded her well. Her husband also changed his attitude and began to support her cultivation. The whole family was harmonious and happy.

Xing Yue and Li Yanping were driving around Jianggezhuang Town to explain the facts about Falun Gong to people on April 2nd, 2010, when agents from the Jianggezhuang Police Station arrested them at around noon. Approximately eight agents from Leting Police Department participated in the two practitioners' arrest. After ransacking their homes, the police sent them to Leting County Detention Centre, where the guards directed criminals to beat them. At present, the police are still holding Xing Yue's mini-van. Li Yanping's computer was also confiscated.
