Ms. Zheng Zhixian, who is in her sixties, is a Falun Gong practitioner from Qian'an City in Hebei Province. On March 26th, 2010, she was arrested by police officers, who were hiding in the Mingzhu Garden while she posted banners to inform the public about the persecution of Falun Gong.

On the following day, the officers led a group of armed police to Ms. Zheng Zhixian's home, and once again ransacked it, confiscating a computer and other personal belongings. They later arrested her daughter while she was having her hair cut at a shop at Mingzhu Garden.

Ms. Zheng Zhixian had previously been arrested three times. Officials extorted money and detained her. She developed hemiplegia (paralysis on one side of the body) as a result of being tortured, and therefore was unable to take care of herself. At noon on November 13th, 2008, four officers headed by Peng Minghui broke into Ms. Zheng's home, and ransacked it. Officers dragged her into a police car, then detained Ms. Zheng in a brainwashing centre inside the Seed Company. Her health deteriorated due to the brutal persecution, and after one week of torture, she showed symptoms of hemiplegia. In order to avoid responsibility, the officers agreed to release her, only after extorting 10,000 yuan1 from her family.

Ms. Zheng Zhixian and her husband were at a market stand on May 11th, 2009, when Ha Fulong and other officers arrived in a police vehicle and stopped at the stand. They arrested and carried her to the car, then took her to a brainwashing centre on the fourth floor of the former Seed Company, where she was detained for 53 days. The head of the brainwashing centre extorted 1,000 yuan from her family, claiming expenses for her meals, then released her. After she returned home, Ms. Zheng was extremely weak. Her body trembled while walking since she had no strength. One of her hands is paralysed, so she cannot look after herself.
