United States: Time Warner Adds NTDTV to Channel 589

At 12:00 p.m., November 21st, Time Warner added NTDTV to Channel 589 of its cable network. It broadcasts 24 hours a day. Time Warner customers do not need to pay. It is the only digital basic Chinese channel of Time Warner's.

The channel covers Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island, Western Brooklyn, Mt. Vernon, NY and Southeast Bergen County, NJ.

Many Chinese viewers, including the newly elected city council members Margaret Chin and Yaming Gu, were happy to hear this news. They wished big success to NTDTV. Ms. Chin said, "24-hour broadcasting gives more chances for Chinese people to learn about our communities. It is very good." Mr. Yu Jinshan, the chair of a Chinese association in New York, said, "The contents of NTDTV are rich. It offers all kinds of information to Chinese people. It is a good news to us that we can watch NTDTV 24 hours a day." Mr. Yu wished success to NTDTV and sent greetings to its audience.
