On October 23rd, practitioners Ms. Li Jie and Ms. Sun Yuqin from Lanqi town of Fengcheng city, Liaoning province were imprisoned in the notorious Masanjia labour camp in Shenyang city by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Their daughters were not allowed to appeal on their behalf.

On August 17th, 2009, while Li Jie and Sun Yuqin were distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the facts about Falun Gong in Hemu village of Hongqi town, their activities were reported to the police. Policemen Ju Chunbo and Wang Guojun from the Hongqi police office forcefully arrested them and took them to the Hongqi police station without any legal documents to support the arrest. On the same night, the practitioners were sent to the Dandong detention centre, arriving at 1:30 a.m. the following morning. When their family requested to see them, the person on duty told them that the Lanqi police office would not allow them any visitation whatsoever, and showed them the notice from the Lanqi police office that these two practitioners were prohibited to be visited.

On October 19th, Li Jie and Sun Yuqin's daughters went to the law department of the Fengcheng public security bureau to ask the whereabouts of their mothers. Policeman Dai told them, "Their cases have already been reported to the law department of Dandong public security bureau. They will be sent to a forced labour camp." The daughters then went to the Fengcheng city appeals office. They asked them why their mothers had been arrested for only being kind people. A personnel Li told them, "The CCP says Falun Gong is a cult. Now if you tell others that Falun Gong is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good, then you are in violation of the law. If you have Falun Gong materials in hand, you will be arrested. We do this because we are paid by the CCP." However, when asked to provide legal documents to support the arrest, they could not offer any. The two girls had to go home.

On October 21st, they once again went to the law department of the Dandong public security bureau. The policemen dared not see them. Instead they told them rudely over the phone, "Go to your local procurator to appeal. We don't accept complaints here." They then went to appeal office of the Dandong public security bureau. The director told them, "Li Jie has been sent to a forced labour camp for one and a half years, Sun Yuqin for one year. They have been sent to Masanjia Forced Labour Camp." However, their families were never notified of anything.

The two girls hurried to Dandong detention centre to look for their mothers and found out that their mothers were still detained there and had not yet been transferred. They requested visitation with their mothers, with tears in their eyes, but vice director Wan Jing rejected their requests.

Li Jie and Sun Yuqin are both farmers in their fifties. In 1997, Li Jie started to practise Falun Gong. In about five to six months, her various diseases, such as gall bladder inflammation, duodenum inflammation and rheumatic bursitis were cured. She had continued her path of cultivation since that time. In the past, Li Jie and her husband had fought frequently. Their family became harmonious after she started practising Falun Gong.

After the persecution started, at the end of November of 2000, Li Jie and several practitioners from Lanqi town went to appeal in Beijing. They were arrested at the train station in Dalian and were sent back to the Fengcheng police office. Later they were sent to a brainwashing centre in Caohe area of Fengcheng city and were forced to be "transformed" [forcibly renounce Falun Gong]. They were not released until March of 2001, only after their families were forced to pay fines.

Sun Yuqin also suffered many kinds of diseases before she practised Falun Gong. Her relationship with her mother-in-law was not good. After studying the Falun Gong teachings and practising the exercises, she became very healthy and realised that everything in this human world is predestined and that one needs to be tolerant and compassionate. After that, she could get along with her mother-in-law and invited her to live with her family
