On July 8, 2009, practitioners held an event in L'Aquila, Italy to bring the grace of Falun Dafa to more people. They also called on political leaders at the G8 summit to pay attention to the CCP's ten-year-long brutal persecution of Falun Gong.

The activity started from 8 a.m. and ended at 2 p.m. In the morning, the practitioners demonstrated their five exercises along with the music.

An earthquake of 6.3 on the Richter scale occurred in L'Aquila on April 6 of this year. Currently there are still some aftershocks. Tents are seen everywhere in the city. The residents of the city live in the shadow of the earthquake. When the peaceful practitioners appeared, the passers-by were curious and stepped forward to inquire about Falun Gong.

The G8 summit was held that day. CCP Head Hu Jintao planned to attend, but cut short his trip to return home due to the unrest in Xinjiang. To attract the attention of the international community, and let them know about the CCP's crimes in the persecution of Falun Gong, practitioners hung banners that read, "Bring Jiang Zemin, Luo Gan, Liu Jing and Zhou Yongkang to justice" and "Nine Commentaries is a unique book to disintegrate the CCP," and set up posters with photos exposing the CCP's torture methods.
