On June 13 2009, Falun Gong practitioners from South Schwarzwald (Black Forest) went to Freiburg im Breisgau, known as the Gateway of Schwarzwald, and a popular sightseeing city for tourists. They held an activity in the city centre to raise awareness about Falun Gong. Using many photos, display boards, newspapers, leaflets, and other materials, they exposed the brutal ten-year persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and called for an end to the persecution. Many people signed a petition to support Falun Gong after learning about the situation.

Passers-by talk with Falun Gong practitioners to learn about the persecution happening in China.

A young German man said hello in Chinese to a Falun Gong practitioner. He spoke fluent Chinese. He had been to China and was familiar with the situation there. He despised the CCP regime. When he learned about the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and especially about the CCP's harvesting organs from living practitioners, he was shocked. A practitioner gave him a copy of the investigation report, Bloody Harvest, co-written by David Matas, a human rights lawyer in Canada, and David Kilgour, a former member of Canadian parliament and Secretary of State for the Asia-Pacific region. He held the book in his hands and said sincerely, "You have let me know such a huge behind-the-scenes story. If this is true, I will tell everyone I know, including my Chinese friends." He gave his email address to a practitioner and asked for more information.

An English-speaking man stopped to learn about the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong. He was very concerned and said, "I am very worried about China."

A woman with her two daughters passed by the information booth and stayed to read the display boards. They, too, were shocked by the news about organ harvesting in China. She asked twice, "Is it true?" She said that this was unbelievable; even worse than what the Nazis did. She said, "We can do little to help. Chinese people must act themselves." One of her daughters said, "Though we cannot do much, can't we sign the petition to support?" So they signed the petition to condemn the persecution. The woman added, "Human morality has deteriorated to such extent."

A Belarusian girl said that she very much knew about that criminal behaviour of Communist governments. However, she was still shocked about the organ harvesting. After she signed the petition, a practitioner gave her a hand-made little lotus flower. She liked it so much that she stayed to learn how to make one herself.

Another woman who is a member of a human rights organisation showed great interest in Falun Gong. She asked where she could find a practice site and was given a contact phone number. She also took some informational materials, and signed the petition before leaving.

Some Chinese students passed by the booth, talked with practitioners and decided to formally quit the CCP and its affiliated organisations. Some accepted the flyers and other materials, and sat down in the shade to read them.

Around the end of the event, Falun Gong practitioners were packing up and about to leave. All of a sudden a girl ran toward them, shouting "Falun Gong!" She was a middle school student. She was working on a research project and her topic was the organ harvesting in China. She was very happy when she happened to come across Falun Gong practitioners. For her project, she had read a lot of information on the CCP's harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. She gratefully interviewed the practitioners and exchanged contact information for future reference.

Many people said to the practitioners, "Good luck! We wish you success!" All those who have learned the facts hoped that the CCP collapses and that the brutal and inhuman persecution is stopped as soon as possible.
