Taiwan: International Truth-Compassion-Forbearance Art Exhibition Presents Traditional Culture

The International Truth-Compassion-Forbearance Art Exhibition was held for two weeks at Fang Liao High School in Pintung County, Taiwan, beginning on May 18th, 2009. Wu Deng-Ju, former President of the Pingtung County Art Association, went to the Exhibition on May 25th. Mr. Wu felt Falun Gong practitioners have presented the divine Chinese culture through art.

In the Exhibition, Wu was first attracted by two paintings "Buddha Statue" and "Buddha Descending." Wu said, "These painters must be practitioners and have very calm hearts. They were able to reach the divine realm to view the magnificent images of Buddha. That is why the paintings are so vivid and solemn."

The painting "Studying the Fa" also amazed Wu. "The painting makes you focus on the person's face and shows how concentrated she is. The light radiates from the child's happy face and gives people a serene feeling. It is as if there is music and rhythm coming out of the painting, soothing people," said Mr. Wu. He believes the painter has a pure heart to be able to present such a beautiful picture.

In the painting "Destitute and Homeless," strong light comes from the top, dims at lower half of an angel, and comes around to a girl. It gives Mr. Wu a sense of rhythm. Wu said that the light goes from bright to dim, plus the changes of colours and well proportioned contrast make the painting special. "The painting also shows Buddha is in the girl's heart, and that is why she is taken care of."

Mr. Wu, known as the Taiwan Ocean Artist, is currently the President of the Fang-Liao Art Development Association. Wu's artwork has won many awards in many art exhibitions. He recently wrote a song, "Fang-Liao is the Most Beautiful!" which won him the Best Lyric Writing Award in the category of Traditional and Artistic Music of the 20th Golden Melody Awards in Taiwan.

Mr. Wu believes that the practitioners know the truth of the universe and are improving themselves by enduring difficulties.

Mr. Wu accepted the practitioners' application to use the Pingtung County Art Museum for an art exhibition next year. He said that he was moved by the genuine sincerity of Falun Gong practitioners because they by all means want to clarify the facts about Falun Gong and stop the persecution.
