Ms. Shi Guiming is a Falun Gong practitioner from Wenling in Zhejiang Province. After being detained for six months, she was sentenced to a three-year prison term by the Wenling Intermediate Court in December 2008, and is currently detained at the Hongzhou Women's Prison. The young grandson that she was raising is left alone, spending his days in fear.

Ms. Shi Guiming is about 60 years old. Her husband died in her early life. Her oldest son later died and his wife remarried, leaving a boy for Ms. Shi to care for. The death of her son had a profound effect on her. She had a tearful face all day and couldn't sleep. She also had difficulty eating and drinking. She suffered from hypertension, cirrhosis and other illnesses, and was unable to take care of herself. She went to many hospitals for treatment, but they all said there was nothing they could do. Her health became worse and worse. One day, a Falun Gong practitioner went to visit her and suggested that she practise Falun Gong. She agreed. After practising Falun Gong for several months and believing in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, she fully recovered.

On May 25th, 2008, Shi Guiming went to a village in Shiqiaotou Town of Wenling City to explain the truth about Falun Gong. She was reported and taken to the Shiqiaotou Police Station. She was later sent to the Wenling Detention Centre.

In December 2008, the Wenling Intermediate Court sentenced Ms. Shi to a three-year prison term. She is being detained at the Hongzhou Women's Prison.
