Turkey: The 'Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance International Art Exhibition' Amazes in Turkey

From January 10th-22nd, 2009, the Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance International Art Exhibition was successfully held in Mersin City, Turkey. During the twelve days of exhibition, it caused quite a sensation among local residents.

The International Art Exhibition was held at the most famous exhibition hall in Mersin City--the Mersin Art Club (ISK). Many well-known figures in the artistic circles were present at the opening ceremony to give congratulatory remarks and appreciate the artworks with a keen interest. At the opening ceremony, the manager of the ISK told the practitioners, “After seriously reviewing every painting to be on display here, we decided to arrange for you to exhibit these artworks in our best exhibition hall. It seems that our decision is right.”

After appreciating the paintings on exhibition, a director of the ISK by the name of Teoman said in an amazing manner that it was beyond his imagination that those artworks were so magnificent. After listening to practitioners’ detailed explanation about Falun Gong and the persecution it suffers in China, Mr. Teoman said, “I’ll personally send a message about this Art Exhibition to some 2,000 members of this Club via email, and urge them to visit this exhibition.”

After seeing all of the paintings on display, one of the persons in charge of the ISK, Mr. Mehmet Ali Meric, who is a famous Turkish painter, talked excitedly to practitioners, “I was holding back my tears to see each painting. They are unbelievably perfect.”

When seeing the artworks depicting the cruel torture against Falun Gong practitioners, Ms. Nefise Olgu, who visited the Art Exhibition together with her husband, was in tears. After practitioners explained the Chinese Communist regime’s persecution against Falun Gong practitioners in length, both Ms. Nefise and her husband expressed that this persecution must be ended immediately.

Two key persons of the Sun TV Station, Mr. Aziz Avciand Mr. Rifat Sen, also visited the painting exhibition. They said that those paintings were full of unbelievably attractive power, and that their TV station would try to cover various activities organized by Falun Gong practitioners as much as possible from now on.

Another visitor, Ms Gul Boran, said that when seeing the artworks depicting the persecution, she was very sad as if her heart was stabbed by a knife, and that she would like to do her level best to help put an end to this inhumane persecution.

During the 12 days of exhibition, those who came to see the artworks were almost from all walks of life. Not only were they shocked to learn the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China, but almost all of them showed their sympathy with Falun Gong. It was not uncommon to see visitors’ eyes brimming with tears while looking at the paintings.

Many people also expressed that they would like to cultivate Falun Gong, and asked practitioners for exercise instruction CDs. The signature book was full of visitors’ positive praises for the artworks on exhibition, their best wishes to Falun Gong practitioners and the stern condemnation of the Chinese Communist regime’s atrocities.
