Predestined Relationship--A Western Practitioner's Experience Sharing

Requested by a western practitioner, this story was written based on her oral account. She wanted to tell fellow practitioners in China that as a western practitioner, she is also a solid believer of Falun Dafa and thanks Teacher for salvation.

I previously felt very bad and upset about not really knowing the right way to do what a Dafa practitioner should do. Later however, I realized that whenever I had the feeling, as long as I went out my front door, chances were that I would magically come across Chinese people and I was able to clarify the facts about the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong. Thus, I truly feel Teacher's great compassion and I'm deeply grateful for His saving.

I had been practising Falun Gong for more than a year, and fellow practitioners in a particular city were often going out of town to spread Falun Gong. At that time, I wasn't always able to go with them because I didn't live in that city. On one occasion, for some unknown reason I became very anxious to go where we had practitioners demonstrating the Falun Gong exercises, and videos showing the CCP's staged Tiananmen Square self-immolation incident, which attracted many Chinese who stopped and watched. One person in the crowd caught my attention. I thought that I should offer him some truth-clarification materials introducing him to Falun Gong. So I walked over to him.

As I was telling him that he could talk to a fellow Chinese practitioner, he told me that he was not Chinese. So, I recommended the English version of "Falun Gong." He asked, "If I learn Falun Gong, could I become an enlightened person?" I was surprised because Teacher said in Zhuan Falun,

"Let me tell everyone that 'Buddha' is not a superstition. It is a word from Sanskrit, an ancient Indian language. When it was introduced to China, it was called 'Fo Tuo.' There were also people who translated it as 'Fu Tu.' As the word was passed around, our Chinese people left out one character and called it 'Fo.' What does it mean in Chinese? It means 'an enlightened person.' one who has become enlightened through cultivation practice." (Zhuan Falun 2000 Translation Version - Lecture One)

My answer to his question was "Yes, according to Zhuan Falun." We agreed to meet again the next day. I also downloaded Zhuan Falun in his native language. After showing him the five sets of exercises, and while doing the fifth exercise--the sitting meditation, he sat and meditated for an hour. From then on we studied the Fa together, did the exercises, and took part in truth-clarifying activities. About a year later, we got married and together went to the United States where we had an opportunity to see Teacher.

I later followed my husband back to his home town, where our baby daughter was born. When she started talking, her first word was "Buddha Fa." At first I was not accustomed to the city, and I also didn't speak the language. In addition to taking care of our baby, I did the grocery shopping, and while doing all these things I felt I was wasting a lot of time. I felt I should be doing something more for Dafa. Gradually I realized that every time I brought our daughter with me to do my errands, many people including Chinese wanted to take a picture with my baby. As you know, every child of Dafa practitioners is always lovely. Thus, taking this opportunity, I always displayed some copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party on the top of the stroller to clarify the facts.

It seemed magical that we always came across some Chinese people wherever we went. One time when we were driving to a mountain, there didn't seem to be anyone around. Yet I happened to spot a group of people working on a farm who turned out to be Chinese after all. Without any problems, we gave them truth-clarification materials. I knew that everything had been arranged by Teacher.

This year when the "Olympic Torch" came to this town, and when I was on my way with my daughter to the supermarket, I came across five groups of Chinese foreign students who were on their way to catch a flight to watch the "Olympic Torch" ceremonies. My home happens to be near the airport. As these Chinese students came to say hello to my daughter, I told them how much I love China and how great Falun Dafa is. I even tried giving them the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. Although they had certain ideas that prevented them from accepting the Nine Commentaries they sincerely listened to what we had to say.

Since we live near the airport many Chinese tourists pass through here. Recently, I have been going there frequently and holding up a banner that says "Falun Dafa has spread throughout the world." I stand with my banner in the arrivals area and I can see that almost everyone looks at the banner, and many people read what it says out loud for others to hear. I know they talk about Falun Gong, and some even say, "No matter where you go, you see Falun Gong." I am now preparing a T-shirt that says "Falun Dafa is good" for my daughter to wear. I think it also helps in clarifying the truth.
