The Vicious Policewomen Of Nanmusi Labour Camp

The female police officers in the Nanmusi Female Forced Labour Camp are extremely violent. Even county policemen there on business are surprised by their savage behaviour.

1. Policewoman Wang, from the confinement squadron, tortured the Falun Dafa practitioners using every possible means. She forced practitioners over fifty years old to face the wall and stretch both arms out on the wall, calling it "Climb Up," like ivy climbing up the wall. Practitioners under fifty were forced to raise their arms straight over their heads, which was called "Flying Up." The practitioners were made to keep these postures for sixteen to seventeen hours every day and were not allowed to sit or squat down even for eating. Quite a few practitioners almost became unconscious and couldn't hold these positions while the prisoners on duty cursed, beat, and kicked them. Sometimes the police on duty did not allow the practitioners to sleep, wash, or drink. Wary of having their atrocities exposed to other prisoners, the vicious police forbid us from talking, and at every turn they electric-shocked or beat us, and even extended our terms.
Policewomen Zhang Xiaofang said, "Whoever talks must have mental problems. We will make sure she gets an infusion or an injection until she cannot speak any more." In the Nanmusi Female Forced Labour Camp, many Falun Dafa practitioners had to serve extended sentences. One practitioner from Leshan had completed her term, but six months later she was still imprisoned there. Her old mother and young daughter are left at home with no source of income and lead a very miserable life.

2. Right before the Spring Festival in late January 2001, the police in Sichuan Province abducted large numbers of Falun Dafa practitioners. The county police claimed that the supervising team from the Central Government came in person to the provincial government to take charge of the issue of Falun Gong and to launch a more severe campaign of persecution. Every day the authorities abducted practitioners from every city and county, sending so many into the forced labour camp that the inmates had to share beds in the confinement squadron. Due to a severe overload in the seventh squadron, they established the eighth and ninth squadrons. But even these two squadrons didn't relieve the overload despite the fact that the confinement squadron already held many practitioners. We had to share the upper and lower bunks in the jail. Because the police force was inadequate, they had to transfer policewomen from other places. One of those transferees was Zhang, a very wicked individual. During squadron meetings or TV-watching, just to let off steam, she frequently grabbed and beat the practitioners.

3. The local police abducted us with no arrest warrant, no forced labour sentence, and no court hearings. They just arrested me at my home. Later I asked a fellow practitioner if she had gotten any of these files, and she didn't have them either. Another practitioner was given a forced labour sentence, but the police in the forced labour camp filled in her file only after she had been abducted there.

4. A Falun Dafa practitioner didn't have enough money to buy the forced labour uniform, so policewoman Wang slapped her face, shocked here with electric batons and tortured her in an icy open yard for many days. A practitioner had gone to Beijing with her several-month-old baby to appeal for a stop to the persecution of Falun Gong and was arrested in Tiananmen Square. When the local police heard of this, they beat her terribly and also hit the baby's head so hard he almost became unconscious. The baby couldn't cry out until he had got his breath back later on. In spite of the baby's heart-piecing cries, the abusers continued with the beating.

5. As Falun Dafa practitioners were persecuted, their family members were also implicated. Some young people were not allowed to go to certain universities. Under all kinds of false pretences the police harassed their families to extort money. A practitioner was confined twice in the detention centre where she was immobilized with chains. Another time she was held twice in a mental hospital where she was forced to take infusions, injections, and medicines. After several days of this torture she was unable to stand steadily or see straight, and couldn't even hold her rice bowl. Soon after, she was unable to get up and started to vomit blood. She was detained for nearly ten months in 2000, during which the police fined her 25,000 Yuan (400-500 Yuan is an average monthly income in urban China), and extorted from her another 5,000 Yuan as her transportation fee from Beijing. She didn't have any income during the five months detention, but she had to pay 40,000 Yuan for medical care. She and her husband had to borrow money from everywhere to pay the bail, which was later confiscated by the police under false pretences. Then she was arrested again with no legal warrant and was detained once more in the forced labour camp. To escape police persecution and to give their child an opportunity to go to school, her husband had to file for divorce in the Nanmusi Court when she was in the forced labour camp.

6. The seventh squadron broadcast programs slandering Falun Dafa every day to brainwash us. Some of the practitioners were locked indoors over a period of six months, and they had to urinate and defecate in a water bucket. The rest of them had to work from 6 or 7am until 12 midnight. When the practitioners spoke out against the persecution, the squadron leader Zhang Xiaofang shocked them with an electric baton or handcuffed them to a tree or behind their backs, and even let several officers use electric-shock batons on them simultaneously. In addition, she immediately would have the practitioners' terms extended. The perpetrators always threatened, "If you refuse to change your mind, we will detain you here until your death. We will let you sit in the cell until your wear out the floor. You won't get released even when we retire." Under such adverse conditions, the practitioners were also suffering from scabies, which were extremely painful.

7. Some so-called verdicts had no reasonable or legal basis. Some verdicts against Falun Dafa practitioners were one sentence; "This person is involved with the activities of the cultivation practice of Falun Gong." In accordance with the law, the forced labour camps are supposed to verify the verdict, but officials imprisoned practitioners without proof of criminal acts or court verdicts, sometimes even fabricating the verdict directly in the administration section of the forced labour camp.

About 5am on March 19, 2001, the Falun Dafa music "Pudu" was heard all over the forced labour camp, followed by our Teacher's new article, "Rectifying the Colossal Firmament," the truth of the "Self immolation" in Tiananmen Square, and other articles […]. The police were dumbstruck, while the practitioners were greatly encouraged. The inhumane torture, the forced brainwashing, and the threats by family members who have been manipulated continue every day, but nothing can change our righteous belief in the truth […]. Teacher Li's poem, "Good and Evil Are Already Clear" (from Hong Yin) was reverberating over Nanmusi. "Falun Dafa is good" is the voice from the heart of every steadfast practitioner. How could Jiang's scoundrel gang stop the people from realising the truth?
