CCP "Party Rights" Domineer Over the Law

An important sign of a modern civilised society is "the rule of law." That means that the law is greater than power. Recently because of the Olympic torch relay, some Chinese people in Western society have held demonstrations and rallies in Western countries. However, the Western governments didn't repress this kind of "instability" because the law of the Western countries protects freedom of speech and freedom of assembly. "The rule of law" can be substantially implemented.

Chinese people can assemble and even express passionate opposition to the Western countries in the capital of a Western country. However, in their own country they cannot speak the truth, have their say freely or get access to the right information--speech and network are stubbornly blocked. What's more, they must have a "temporary residence permit" if they want to live in their country's capital.

What does this difference mean? It shows that the CCP's dictatorship is a power above the law.

In China, there is no real "law." It is a self-evident fact that the CCP's right is above the law. Nine years have passed since the peaceful appeal of 10,000 Falun Gong practitioners at Zhongnanhai on April 25, 1999, caused by He Zuoxiu, who made slanderous remarks about Falun Gong. To appeal in China is completely legal. But later the CCP framed the peaceful and rational appeal as a "besiege of the government," and took it as a pretext for launching the illegal persecution.

A very serious problem in China is that the legitimate rights and interests of the majority of the people are not protected by law. The CCP tramples on the law, represses people with its superpower, and persecutes Falun Gong. When we look back at the persecution of Falun Gong that the CCP launched, it clearly showcases that the CCP's right overrides the law. It slanders and distorts the legitimate acts of Falun Gong practitioners and constantly brainwashes people. People cannot think independently because of these constant lies and false concepts of the CCP's propaganda.

Many analysts have commented that Falun Gong in China has been legal and lawful. Those in power, regardless of their personal wishes, are not allowed to use their powers to repress legal groups in a society really governed by rule of law. Otherwise it is an offence and subject to legal sanctions. Only the CCP takes the place of the law with its superpower and defined Falun Gong as "illegal" with no legal basis for the proceedings and the circumstances.

The Falun Gong practitioners' appeal on April 25, 1999 was legitimate, peaceful and rational. The CCP's persecution of Falun Gong is illegal, and will surely be punished by the course of nature.
